I think this is a completely fair question. There is no doubt that UCF had the tougher conference title game and they beat their common opponent, Pittsburgh, by a similar margin. At TAMU is the only game that set Clemson apart, but there isn't much difference between the AAC and the ACC. With that being said, while I don't believe UCF is a top 4 team this year (last year they definitely were), I think it would have been completely fair to give them a shot this year with no clear cut #4 team.
