Muschamp set to meet the media today after the team's first full scrimmage today. Live updates will be in this post.
--They had 150 snaps, kicked off at noon and weather was nice for the players. Thought the effort and urgency was better than Saturday. "Our guys came out with a purpose."
--Said after zero procedural issues Saturday, the team jumped offsides multiple times and that's frustrating.
--Had three groups with 50 snaps each. Coaches were off the field.
Injury: Chavis Dawkins has a high ankle sprain and will be out for one or two weeks. Said he had a good fall so far and will be a core special teams guy this year.
--Donell Stanley has done a good job of leading the offensive line and adjusting to the up-tempo offense. Said he doesn't think the first-team offense had any procedural issues.
--He said he's been pleased with the team's pass rush this fall. Said it's a "work in progress" but they're better than they've been.
--Asked to clarify about Durkin and said his thoughts and prayers are with the family of the player that died. Said he finds it hard to believe some of the things he read in the report about Durkin and he'll "leave it at that."
--Jamyest Williams and Nick Harvey "played better" at safety Monday. Montac continues to have a good camp and Jaycee Horn had a knockdown pass of Deebo Samuel.
Josh Vann caught the ball well, Shi Smith continues to have a good camp. Bryan Edwards had a one-handed grab in the back of the end zone for a touchdown. Kiel Pollard made some plays and had a good camp so far.
--Josh Vann was fully cleared today and this was the first chance to be in full-contact.
--Muschamp said he "feels good about" the four guys that played receiver before this season. Said losing Deebo Samuel last year really helped bring along the young guys pretty quickly.
--Harvey's worked almost exclusively at safety the last few days. Also repping some at nickel. J.T. Ibe could be cleared to do some skeleton work in practice Wednesday.
--Muschamp said doing man-to-man coverage is the biggest defense to teams running RPOs. Said with Fenton, Nixon, Harvey all with experienced along with some of the new guys he's "pleased with what we have at the position."
Said both Horn and Mukuamu will be able to help this season.
--Kicking competition has been great and all three guys have been good. Said they had a few pressure-packed kicks in Monday's scrimmage.
--Brenda Tracy will talk with the team tonight. She was the woman centered around the Baylor sexual assault case and Muschamp said it'll be an important message to deliver to the players about respecting women.
--Muschamp says again there's no timetable for the Belk and Cook situations. "To my knowledge" South Carolina has all the necessary paperwork in for both and Chance Miller in compliance is handling all of that.
--Muschamp thinks the Gamecocks are "right about" five yards per carry in the run game. Said the RPOs have helped there. Eric Wolford said earlier this camp he wants to have 5.5 yards per carry.
--Muschamp has been really pleased with the running backs and the offense's ability to get yards after contact.
--Rick Sandidge and Jabari Ellis have been good but just need more snaps. J.J. Enagbare still comes along. "We're not where we need to be."
