So South Carolina currently has three players out right now rehabbing from Tommy John surgery in Graham Lawson, Logan Chapman and Julian Bosnic.
I was able to check with pitching coach Skylar Meade today to see how they're doing and was told that all three are progressing really, really well.
Lawson looks "outstanding" in his rehab and I was told if someone saw him through and didn't know he was coming off surgery it wouldn't look like he was injured at all. Lawson is also probably the furthest along after having his surgery a couple months before Chapman and Bosnic did.
Chapman is still progressing and it's throwing full steam yet but is doing some flat ground work as part of his rehab. He had his surgery at the beginning of October and should be full go at some point in the fall before his redshirt sophomore season.
Bosnic, who was the latest to have the surgery, I was told is looking really good and is starting his throwing program now in preparations to be ready before the season next year. He'll redshirt this season.
Needing the surgery wasn't a surprise for Bosnic, who came to school with a little bit of an arm injury and opted to go ahead and have the surgery before he really got going in college. I know the staff really likes him and his game and thinks he can develop into a really good pitcher at South Carolina as a powerful lefty with starter potential.
Coming out of high school Bosnic's fastball was up to around 91 mph at a PerfectGame event before the arm troubles.
Also, wanted to update things on Carmen Mlodzinski. Kingston said Tuesday the staff is planning on getting him back for the next-to-last weekend series of the regular season against Kentucky. Right now there's no set plan for him but he'll likely be worked back slowly coming off that foot injury.
