That's about what I expected at 5:00 on a Friday afternoon. I left work at 2 to be able to go. I'm sure there will be a lot more there on Sunday.Originally posted by Freddie.B.Cocky:
Attendance was only 10,644. Now, that is surprising.
Not really. The area was a mess. Having the game at 5:00 was not very good for fan support. Sunday should be packed.Originally posted by Freddie.B.Cocky:

I hope it's much better. Like I said, I plan to be in Greensboro, if we get past Syracuse.Originally posted by uscbeckham:

Don't know the exact numbers. Just my observation: I thought our crowd was impressive, even compared to the men's tournament. I'm seeing plenty of empty seats at nearly every location for the men's tourney. The only exceptions seem to be places where a team is playing in its home state (e.g., Gonzaga in Seattle, Dayton in Columbus. Both games were played in the evening, which also helped attendance.).Originally posted by Combahee Cock:
Wonder what the average attendance was for women's games across the country?

Chick, as Beckham said earlier, the area was a mess with traffic and parking. The Sav St pep band and Cheerleaders did not make it into the arena until well after tip-off. And yes, some of those blocks of lower level seats on both sides appeared to be blocked for other teams.Originally posted by chick75:
at the entrances swarming and rushing into get the GA seats. The space behind the visitor's bench must have been for their fans, and a 5:00 game with a 3-hour drive would have been difficult.
Syr-Neb game was not well-attended obviously, but I imagine tomorrow night will be better.
