WBB: Five Things to Watch - Kansas State

Tip is at 7 on SEC Network+.

Still no word on Destanni Henderson. She is warming up with the team, but not wearing warmup gear.

Henderson is not in the layup line. Safe to say she is out.

It's not a big surprise on Henderson. This is basically the only game for a two week span, so there is plenty of time to get her healthy instead of rushing her back.

Raven Johnson no longer has the brace on her knee.

Gamecock starters: Amihere, Cooke, Beal, Saxton, Boston.

Officially that is a starting lineup of 5-9, 6-1, 6-2, 6-4, and 6-5. K-State is 6-0, 6-1, 6-1, 6-1, and 6-6, but the three 6-1 freshmen are rather slender.

Gamecocks win the toss. LA gets things started and then posts inside for a layup.

Aliyah Boston won't be perfect. A hook shot over Lee is too strong. She gets it back, up and under for a layup.

Boston has 4 points, 3 rebounds and an assist in 4 minutes. Cardoso replaces her. They will sub a lot to wear down Lee.

Cooke manages to throw too high for Cardoso (who was being pushed in the back by another 6-7 player). Gamecocks lead 12-9 at the media timeout. Sundell, K-State's second leading scorer and top point guard is on the bench with 2 fouls.

Huge block by Rivers on Jada Moore. Rivers is so confident she tries to swat Lee's layup. She did enough to force a miss. Gamecocks lead 15-11.

Gamecocks lead 15-12 after 1Q. USC has a 16-11 rebounding edge, and 5 blocks, but all that size is a little slow getting back on defense. Lee has 5 points and 3 rebounds.

Boston is feasting on Lee with this up and under move. Lee chases the first move every time. Sundell picks up her third foul.

Boston steps out and hits a 20 foot jumper. She has 8 points and 8 rebounds. You may remember this Aliyah Boston from such games as Monday night. Gamecocks lead 19-12, timeout K-State.

One of the Glenn twins is now playing the four. That is a huge mismatch. All she can do is foul Saxton and hope she misses the FTs (she does).

Boston draws the third foul on Lee. That's three each on K-State's top two scorers.

Boston has a double-double with 4:30 left in the second quarter, against a player who is top ten in the nation in scoring and rebounding. Gamecocks lead 26-17.

Gamecocks lead 28-17. They are on a 9-0 run. K-State has missed seven straight and the last two possessions ended in shot clock violations. They haven't scored in over four minutes.

South Carolina leads 30-17 at halftime. They finished on an 11-0 run over the last 6 minutes, as K-State missed its last 9 shots. The lead would be bigger if the Gamecocks weren't 10-21 from the line.

Boston has 11 and 11, and Lee has 6 points and 3 rebounds. USC is shooting 40%, but K-State is only 20.1%. USC has a 30-16 rebound edge, 10-1 in second chance points, and 18-10 in points in the paint. USC is 0-5 from three but has 9 blocks. It's almost like a 6-4 power forward is playing point guard.

South Carolina missed eight of its last 11 free throw attempts. K-State missed 19 of its last 21 shot attempts. I don't know which is worse.

Lee and Sundell combine to average about 35 points, 15 rebounds, and 5 assists per game. The each picked up three fouls in the first half. They played 20 total minutes and had 8 points, 5 rebounds, and 1 assist.

Brylee Glenn draws a foul and makes both FTs. Ends an almost 7 minute scoreless stretch for the Wildcats.

Four fouls on Lee.

Beal misses a pair of FTs. Dawn buries her head in her hands. Boston cleans up the miss. Boston is up to 17 points and 14 rebounds.

LA grabs a rebound and goes coast to coast. Gamecocks have doubled up the Wildcats 38-19, and they look totally deflated. Timeout K-State.

6-4 point guard feeds 6-5 center for a transition layup. Next possession, 6-5 center kicks out of the double team to 6-4 point guard for three.

South Carolina leads 47-24 at the media timeout. Shannon Johnson is recognized during the timeout.

Zia Cooke is getting frustrated. She has just 3 points on 0-7 shooting and just 3-6 from the line. She just left a wide-open three short.

Cooke finally hits one and you could see her sigh of relief. Gamecocks lead 52-26.

South Carolina leads 52-27 after 3Q.

South Carolina now has a season-high 14 blocks. Three more ties the school record.

Timeout K-State. South Carolina leads 59-29. Boston has 21 points, 17 rebounds, four blocks, and three assists.

Gamecocks lead 61-32 at the media timeout. Dawn is emptying the bench. 3:43 left.

South Carolina beats Kansas State 65-44. Boston had 21, Amihere and Cardoso 11 each.
