With the exception of Stroman. It just seems like position by position our opponents have the quicker plays than we do just about every game.
We need quicker players.

It's very simple...............we have no shooters. Ball has to go in the hole to win games. Defense is good. EVERY game we go on 10 minute droughts which kills any hope of a victory most nights. Quickness is the least of our worries. Martin needs to go after two sharp shooting guards (not point guards......shooters). Remember the types that could hit 3 pointers????? We had some years ago, but none in the last 10 years. Other teams have them.............but we can't get them for some reason.
You are not going to win many games just jacking up 3 pointers all the time. You want to have a good offense? Then you need players that can beat the guy in front of them off the dribble. If we don't have guys that can split a zone defense or a post player that can beat his guy on the low block, than we do not have a good basketball team. We are too slow off the dribble, on rebounding, on defending, on making cuts. No one uses the damn baseline!!! Every time we try to drive, the driver is too slow and the defenders just slide over and cut him off. I'm sick of watching it. Downey could break that zone. Most teams a have a couple of guys that can do it. Why? Because the got the quickness and the ball skills.We don't. Stroman maybe if he can more experience might learn how to do it.
Rooster.......no one said jack up 3's. I said shooters....the kind that can shoot from anywhere. Decent outside shooting opens the middle.our guysare great at trying to drive.......but they can't finish or they kick it out to an open 3 that's rarely made. We are close but have to have more offensive help.
You mean scorers. Not shooters. We have some guys that can drive, but they are not going to score easily at the basket when two athletic 6'9 guys that can jump out of the roof are waiting a the rim for them. If they can even get that far because the quicker guards step up on the drive and draw the charge on us. Watching these games, it is clear the defenders can see whatever we do from a mile away. We are telegraphing our passes and our drives. It's too predictable because the lack of quickness gives the defense has plenty of time to react.
I think playing Arkansas and 40 minutes of hell took the steam out in 2nd half. Long trip and tough follow up game with short rest.

WTH are you talking about best shot is a hail mary? You want shooters that are good enough to be pro? Too bad, those guys aren't coming to play here no matter who the coach is. You are thinking of the wrong Carolina. Plenty of other SEC teams that keep beating us have quicker players that shoot just as well or better. Because they are quicker they also play better defense. They also break down defenses better so we can get easier shots. I am sick of seeing pass around the top the paint and shoot a three with hand in the shooter's face because they are too slow to get open. And I am not just talking about quicker running and dribbling. I am talking about quicker hands, quicker passing, quicker reacting to rebounds and loose balls. Quicker upstairs. Every thing we do is deliberate as hell and it's predictable.
