Writing this on Wednesday afternoon, the buzz is growing in Columbia and within the coaching industry regarding Bryan McClendon remaining on staff at USC. Beyond that, there are some other signs that point to Will Muschamp leaning in recent days towards elevating McClendon to the full-time offensive coordinator position.

USC’s coaching staff has been in the office today reviewing film from the comeback win over Michigan and checking tape on prospects from the 2019 class and beyond.

We will note that we do not have any final, reportable confirmation, but there are several bits of information going around today. As has been noted, Jeremy Pruitt has pursued McClendon for a position at Tennessee, had McClendon not been elevated to full-time play-caller in Columbia. There’s now a belief within the coaching industry that McClendon is staying on staff at USC.

We have also picked up some information that there are future prospects and coaches associated with them that have been given the impression that a likely scenario is for McClendon to get the OC job.

We are continuing to track this story and will bring our subscribers more information once we hear it.
