South Carolina will close the book on its first week of the contact period as the staff hits the road recruiting again on Friday and Saturday.
Head coach Shane Beamer has prioritized spending time with Oklahoma tight end transfer Austin Stogner on his visit yesterday.
This morning Beamer will head to Woodland HS, home of one of the state's most promising young prospects in class of 2024 four-star OL Kam Pringle.
Beamer will be joined on that stop by offensive line coach Greg Adkins.
This afternoon at 2:00, Beamer is scheduled to be at the 3A State Championship game between Camden and Daniel.
Beamer, Adkins, Clayton White, Justin Stepp, Erik Kimrey and Jimmy Lindsey are all scheduled to be at that game which will feature major class of 2023 DL target Xzavier McLeod and several others that Carolina is tracking at Camden.
On Saturday, Beamer will take in the 1A State Championship game between Bamberg-Ehrhardt and Southside Christian. Again, he will leave before the Dutch Fork game starts in order to preserve his one visit to see four-star WR Antonio Williams, which is scheduled for the upcoming week.
** Offensive coordinator Marcus Satterfield who was confirmed to be at the 4AState Championship game on Thursday, is scheduled to take in quarterback commit Braden Davis' game tonight and on Saturday will be back in time to take in the 5A game tomorrow.
** Defensive coordinator Clayton White is confirmed to have met in-home with Stone Blanton on Thursday and he's expected back in town in time to be at the two state title games today and will be at the two tomorrow as well.
Tonight's game is between Silver Bluff and Gray Collegiate.
** Again, Greg Adkins will be at Woodland this morning with Beamer to check in on Pringle and then will be at both title games today.
** Montario Hardesty is scheduled to get back from his extended trip to his Virginia territory today and then will be in attendance for the Dutch Fork vs. Gaffney game tomorrow where he'll take a close look at 2023 RB Jarvis Green, who the Gamecocks have under evaluation.
** Justin Stepp was at the 4A game last night, will be at both games today and is of course scheduled to watch Antonio Williams play Saturday night. By virtue of Clemson using their visit for this week on Thursday, Clemson coaches won't be able to attend that game.
** Erik Kimrey is scheduled to make a couple of local stops this morning, going by Lower Richland and River Bluff high schools to check in, and is scheduled to take in all four state championship games, but his schedule in reality will likely be dictated by Stogner, who is again the priority while he's on campus.
** Jimmy Lindsey is set for all four championship games and will of course want to be there to see McLeod for Camden this afternoon.
** Mike Peterson will be in his Charlotte area throughout today and is scheduled to watch priority 2022 EDGE target James Pearce and 2023 RB target Daylan Smothers play in their playoff game tonight for Chambers HS.
Mike P is scheduled to hit Myers Park, Julius Chambers, Providence Day and Charlotte Catholic while he's in NC.
Charlotte Catholic 2024 TE Jack Larsen has emerged as a major target for Erik Kimrey and the Gamecocks appear to be in a great spot early on for Larsen, who was in Columbia for the Clemson game.
The Gamecocks also have offers out to Providence Day 2024 WR Jordan Shipp and 2023 three-star DB Chris Peal, who Torrian Gray watched play earlier this year.
Peterson will take in both championship games tomorrow.
** Torrian Gray continues to hit his Florida territories and Friday he'll check in on Raines, Trinity Christian, Bartram Trail and Sandalwood.
Bartram Trail is home to 2023 four-star DB Sharif Denson, who has an offer from Gray and the Gamecocks.
Gray is scheduled to be back in Columbia Saturday for both state title games.
** Pete Lembo will be in Connecticut on Friday when he'll check in on Choate Rosemary Hall, Chesire Academy, The Taft School, Avon Old Farms, Loomis Chaffee and Suffield Academy.
A few guys to keep an eye on that those schools: 2024 four-star DE Jacob Smith, 2023 four-star OL Olaus Alinen and 2023 three-star OL Charlie Symonds.
Lembo is scheduled to be back in Columbia on Saturday for both title games.
