Texas finally beat Indiana 3-2 to eliminate them and advance. Texas was up 3-2 in the 9th inning. Indiana loaded the bases with two out. Pop up down the line in foul territory near the wall. Texas outfielder makes the catch, and quickly in exuberance appears to toss the ball away, running towards the infield thinking the game won. Umpires didn't have a good look or were screened and say no catch. Foul ball. Luckily for that outfielder the pitcher gets the batter out anyway a pitch or two later. Teach players to hold onto the ball until everyone sees you have it. Very much like the wide receivers spiking the ball on the 2 yard line. No harm done, but that could have been a disaster that haunted that outfielder forever if Indiana wins that game and Texas is eliminated the next game. He will get plenty of grief as it is.

More weird than that. Umpire calling obvious bells strikes in favor of Texas. The Texas ball boy throwing the baseball to the Texas pitcher instead of the umpire. Very very strange last inning

This whole regional the umpires have had huge strike zones. In the Texas-Texas A&M game, Texas fans were furious because one of our batters took a third strike that was six inches outside and the next took a third strike that was 6 inches inside. So I don't know that it was as much in our favor as just huge strike zones. I don't know what was up with the ballboy, hopefully he will be replaced or counseled about what to do and not do.
