Well, lsu just showed us how it's done

I don't really like women's basketball, but I love me some Kim Mulkey. Inherited a 9 win team and turned it into a 34-2 national championship team in 2 YEARS. Title #4. First women's coach to win a championship at 2 different schools.

Not knocking what she has done but with the transfer portal, you only need a year to turn things around completely. She should have been t'ed up a bunch of times today. Making contact with the ref usually leads to a quick trip to the showers but not for her. Did love the outfit though.

Yep — thanks to the transfer portal she replaced her entire team. Good to see Ladazia Williams finally get a ring.

I said this in another thread. Miss State upset UCONN and paved an easy path for us to the NC.

it wasn't an easy path. It made a very difficult path a touch easier.

We've played basketball a long time. Never won a title until Coach Staley arrived. That's a lot of basketball - plenty of it really awful.

But that's often the case in sports. Putting yourself into position to take advantage of it is the hard part.

Unique matchups are what makes sports even slightly interesting. If the strongest team won every time, it would be a total sleeper over time.

Shot lights out for sure. I feel like Iowa did for LSU this year what Miss. State did for us in 2017, eliminate the team that could beat them.
Amazing how the Carson chick came of the bench and lights up the scoreboard. Had she been that consistent all year she would have been the headline player. Just goes to show that even an average player can have a one in a million game at just the right time.

Thompson got that chance with us - but it didn't work. If she hit a few of those open 3s she took, might have been a different game.

Yep- I mean I don't think anyone has said or thought different.

She got a chance and didn't take advantage of it - as I said above.
Dude I was totally agreeing with you and even amplifying what you said. People a might touchy on this thang.
