Well, our Poor

You added the bond market analogy which is silly based on the conversation at hand.

We were talking about responsibility and how that actually breaks down.
I showed the debt figures from one President to the other in this century. It doesn't matter whether it was caused by spending or tax cutting. It does not matter whether spending causing debt went towards Social Security, SNAP, Defense or Infrastructure.

Debt service just for starters?

We’re at the point now it does matter. We can’t waste a penny on anything feeling related. If you can’t hold it or measure it it’s gotta go. Time to go from government mode to business mode across the board. Produce or your fired. Any illegal not producing for America and helping pay debt down gotta go. Any teachers not producing grade level reading or math scores gotta go. Any welfare recipients of any kind will be the only new government hires. No more free rides. Work requirements. Welfare doors shut. Agency closed forever. Many others to follow etc etc etc.

What are they actually doing with the money?

Are they planting seeds (investing in America to increase future GDP) or tearing up the garden (progressive slop)?

Debt Service?

What aberrations happened on their watch?

Where were the FED rates during their time in office?

What was the average strength of the dollar during their reign?

And so much more.

Pointing to some debt figure at an arbitrary point in time means little to nothing without context.

This is exactly how the sheep think.

Stock, you're better than this. :)

I have been hollering about our debt for a long time. I personally do not carry ANY debt except that I use to buy gas. And I pay that off every month. So, you are preaching to the choir. When we have a debt crisis...oh my.

Ward, I have been hollering about the debt for a long time. Believe me when I say I'm in the choir.

Bitcoin is getting ready to blow the lid Stock. I hope you're done with your shorts.

Although, the whales could try to rug the futures market before the rise.

That would fool the masses.

HODL.
Ward, you guys get bitcoin up high enough so I can short it in my SWING portfolio. I'm already short in my long-term portfolio, expecting sub 50,000. I cannot wait to go long. Get under 50, 000 and I might allocate 10% rather than my usual 5% to crypto. What a "buy" that would be, I am sure you will agree.

haha. Bitcoin probably will never see $50,000 again ever. IMO, almost zero chance.

Facts! I haven’t paid one cent of interest since I turned 31. Never will again. Locked my credit down then and threw away the key. Financial freedom is one thing that should be taught in all schools from kindergarten forward but never will. Luckily, I was brought up being taught that borrowing money was one of the dumbest things you could ever do if at all avoidable. Its a necessary evil to get started of course but you must not rest until its paid off. As my Grandmother once said. The one thing that stuck with her was what her 5th grade math teacher told her. “Pay as you go, If you can’t pay, you don’t go”. This was in 1922. My how far our education system has fallen.

If I miss going long, it won't be my first miss as I think I mentioned a missed opportunity in another sector, hoping for a pullback. C'est La Vie.

Too much intuitional money involved this cycle. They are buying the dips to fund ETFs. Then you have businesses and governments wanting to putting it in their reserves, etc.

All of BTC's history up until this point has involved mostly retail-only.

21mil cap. Unless there's some breach of the tech by quants or whatever, Bitcoin is generally headed north from here. It could happen very quickly too under Trump. I could see it at $1mil within the next couple of years or earlier.

I totally agree with you. My Dad died when I was 17. I worked in his retail business when he died. I don't specifically remember his business and personal spending habits. But my Mom, later on, was very tight with her money. I think I got that habit from her. You are spot on.

It's now at 105,730.41. You guys stand to get filthy :D rich if you are right. If I'm wrong, I'm pulling for you, my fellow Gamecock investors to strike it really rich.

It's going to eventually go to zero because there is no value in bitcoin. It can't last forever like that.

Fiscal responsibility is critical but is hardly existent. Instant gratification on the other hand rules the world. Very very sad

Time will tell. There is no question that Trump is pro-crypto. He told insiders at a "private" meeting that he wants all bitcoin mined by U.S. miners using American energy to be tax-free. All other bitcoin will face tariffs.

Crypto could be just a 4-year phenomena and then possibly flop. I don't know.

4-year phenom? It's the best performing major asset of all time since 2009. Nothing is close.

When I said 4-year, I was referring from today forward to the end of Trump's term. I should have been clearer or expanded on my response to Watson. I agree with you about since 2009. I wish I had bought then. Did you have the smarts to buy in 2009?

When I do eventually go long again, I'm researching what vehicle to use. I used miners in the past because they have leverage. But I think most will go bankrupt. I know you use DEFI. But it mirrors bitcoin. It has no leverage.

The next 4 years are going to be wild with corruption, a lot of people are going to be hurt. Then we will be left trying to pick up the pieces again.

I hope you saw my response to Ward just above yours. When I said 4 years, in my mind, I was going from today to the end of Trump's term. Bitcoin has been a great investment asset for well over a decade. I did not get in at the beginning. But I have ridden it up to 60,000. Got out and got back in at 30,000 and rode it up to 104,000 and currently am out. So, I have done well with the coin. Who knows what the future holds? I have no crystal ball. You could be right. If Ward is right about it going to 2 million in a couple of years, I will kick myself. But I won't be the only one. It's a hell of a volatile asset. It was up to 106,000 today. Now it's below 103,000. LOL SMH

Your right! Alot of corrupt people are going to be hurt very badly, imprisoned, left laying on the floors of many prisons across the country. They will be trying to pick up and put their miserable worthless shattered lives back together with no success. Its over. You’ve been chased from the shadows. Your corruption now clear and visible to everyone across the globe. The rest is history. Your page has been written, your fate sealed.

This will end up like the election fraud claims. Once there is an investigation we will find out it was the republicans doing it but you'll continue to deny it.

The 28% are the criminals. Great poll put out by the top new fbi and cia hires to round em up with.
Actually, Biden's AVERAGE job approval rating is 39.4% today as he is about to leave office. When Trump left the first time, his AVERAGE job approval rating was 38.6%. The source for this is the Real Clear Politics site. It will be interesting to see how Trump's job approval rating evolves in his 2nd term. It's a tough job.

Most polls are far lower. Biden has earned the honor of one of the worst Presidents in US History.

O'Reilly put him at #2 in his new book.

He was god awful and a criminal to boot.

The only thing he can hope for is Gomers putting together the fact he was incapacitated and corporate goons actually ran the show.

I can't believe you voted for that lunacy again, Stock.

You might want to take the time and go back and delete that material.

I couldn't sleep at night with that floating around the web.

I said AVERAGE for BOTH Biden and Trump, which is multiple polls, accumulated by the Real Clear Politics site.

Ward, I could not vote for the alternative. I would have voted for Chris Christie and Chris Sununu. But not Donald Trump.
