The 2 scenarios aren't even comparable. Trump's conviction was a blatantly political bullshit crime that was a worst a misdemeanor that was somehow turned into 31 felonies through insane nutty liberal twisting of the law. Hunter has been a criminal running wild for years out in the open while the government literally ignored it because he was a Biden.
Just remember that a Presidential pardon only applies to federal charges and convictions. Maybe there are state charges out there that may be investigated now that Joe is on his way out. Trump/New York comes to mind.
