Well, our Poor

You may be right but I hope they are speaking what they truly believe.

Nominees in hearings never say what they truly believe. No matter who it is- they are always spinning- no matter who they work for.

I use to work in the general assembly. What is said in a hearing and on tv is not what is said when the cameras are off- no matter who is talking.

Sometimes it's better (more positive) and sometimes it's much worse (negative).

It's fascinating watching the last of the liberal OGs and their concerns about Trump's appointees.

Line them up with what Biden gave us and have a hard look.

You'll have to look away it's so incredibly lopsided.

What an exchange. She's had several today. Democrats are the Disaster Party at this point.

Blumenthal asked about 1,000 from the previous administration. Biden has 300,000 and he wants to move on. :)

I too think he is a reasonable choice for Trump. He's a bit too stuck on a few things but he's not unreasonable and his personality is one of working with folks instead of working against them.

The think about Bessent is I think he'd happily quit if Trump starts publicly ripping him and ignoring him like he has so many others. I don't thing he'll just sit and take it.

Trump's penchant for saying one thing to one group and then immediately switching and backtracking based on the last person he talked to like he did in his 1st term won't go over well with someone like Bessent.

The credit card interest cap at 10% will be interesting to watch. That would really be a huge interference with the free market. But Trump and Sanders agree on that move.

You're being way too optimistic on this one. Every selection Trump has made has been someone who won't question him.

I understand that. But Trump demands 100% loyalty (while not offering that himself) and they know they have to praise him 100% of the time.

No one is going to get a job if they don't do that.

Some of these folks are true believers. Some of them aren't. When the crap hits the fan, we will see the results of that fealty. We will especially see it as time goes on and folks realize Trump's time is coming to an end- whether by the tenure of the office or his health.

I think Rubio would question him- not in public of course. Rubio is potentially going to have the worst time with Trump. Rubio is deeply knowledgeable about foreign policy. He's thought about it. He can speak on it deeply and intelligently. He can speak with an educated mind on most countries in the world. He has a much deeper level of understanding than Trump does- and every "envoy" Trump has appointed. So that can easily be a real problem.

Rubio (like Mayor Pete in Biden's cabinet) also knows he has a possible future in politics- maybe for decades. Trump doesn't. Rubio knows this and he won't go down with Trump if Trump does something crazy like kisses Putin's ass.

There are many reasons, but Trump has already appointed some other people to be "envoys" for the state department- a few of which Rubio doesn't see eye to eye with.

I think Lee Zeldin would push back against Trump- in private- if necessary. Zeldin would love to run for governor again in New York and he can't win as a Trump right winger. He'd have to be seen as slightly moderate on some positions. He knows that.

There are several others in that category.

For some, this will be the last government job they ever have because I don't think most will be viable options after serving in the Trump administration. (same is true for some of Biden's picks) Just look how many officials in the 1st administration aren't around anymore- and even have had trouble getting jobs in the private sector in some cases.

From the man who has had the worst case of TDS I've ever seen up until the election.

You couldn't write a paragraph without bringing up Trump in some negative light for years on end.

You're a treasure, DeeDave. Please continue to share your wisdom on how the Trump Administration will go.

We're all very interested.

More filthy corruption. Yellen has done nothing for four years up until today.

They are going to have to make a movie about this corrupt clown show. It's easily the worst in history.

Straight from the horse's mouth in BRICS.

So shameful Biden did that press conference to try to take credit.

Then Obama goes behind him with the Tweet below.

These people are enemies of the state.

Yeah Trump had a relatively easy term last time and it fell apart the moment they had a real issue. We shall see how they work together if they face any adversity.

We'll see what happens when you face the adversity of a regime change and they require things out of you other than constant trolling. :)
