Well, our Poor

Imagine those guys lying in their graves in Normandy. They gave their lives to defeat the Nazis. Now the guy leading their government is doing Nazi salutes on stage.

Has to be insulting.

I bet every single one of those soldiers, if they rose from their graves tomorrow, would vote for Trump and praise Elon. And every one of them would see the modern Democrat party as batshit crazy and more dangerous to the American homeland than the Nazis ever were.

Wow.

This is one of those times you should really think about what you're actually saying.

"Undoubtedly the most extraordinary and unexpected element of Trump’s first term was his remaking of the Middle East with the Abraham Accords. He achieved that Nobel Prize-worthy accomplishment by thinking outside the box, recognizing actual hard realities, and ignoring the conventional idiocy of the blob.

"He’s doing the same now with Gaza.

"This vision is absolutely transformative.

"Whether this is his final vision of the region, a negotiation tactic to achieve better deals, or something else, there is no doubt that Trump’s creative thinking is breaking the mold and changing things.

"Let Donald J. Trump cook."

Any soldiers that rose from the grave would immediately recognize leftists as enemies of America and eliminate em all.

Wow.

This is one of those times you should really think about what you're actually saying.

They 100% would support Trump and Elon. Without a doubt. Modern liberals would disgust them. And they wouldn't be fooled by your nazis salute lie.

They wouldn't just be MAGA. They would be...

And liberals would ABSOLUTELY HATE them.

How many times do they have to get their asses kicked by an "idiot" before they finally look in the mirror and realize they are the idiots?
I'm genuinely curious what you've won? Since 2000, what are the big wins of the Republican Party?

The country is much more liberal today than it was 25 years ago.

I sure hope that this thread is not indicative of the boys and girls in DC not working together to cut our debt. I have not posted much on this thread. But when I have, I have often stressed the debt crisis I believe that the U.S. will be hit by the end of next year. Interest rates will spike and unemployment will go sharply higher. Stocks, real estate, bonds and the economy will all get crushed. I feel like a surgeon who did a colonoscopy on a patient, found some polyps and told the patient, "make some lifestyle changes or else". I believe time is running out on the good ole USA. A problem we have in our political system is that both parties are captives of extremists. Moderates must find a way to take control before it's too late.

No one is working to cut the debt. The tariffs, these layoffs, etc are all failed attempts to pay for the tax breaks Trump wants to extend.

But the only way the tax cuts get passed is if they raise the debt ceiling. The only way the debt ceiling is getting raised is if there is a bunch of pork spending for both republicans and democrats.

Spot on, unfortunately. It will end ugly. The billionaires have nothing to worry about. But the middle class and below do. But, I don't believe the debt situation is on their radar. But when they and/or their family members lose their jobs for an indefinite period of time, they will go into shock. We are going to have a repeat of the 1929 Great Depression (except it will be much worse). And that one lasted over a decade. I have been fussing about our debt situation for awhile. I have been saying I expect it by the end of next year. It would not surprise me if it starts as soon as the end of this year. We are running out of time.

You’re right. Somethings definitely gotta give. Personally I can’t believe it’s taking so long. This entire house of cards our monetary system is built on has no foundation. It’s all smoke and mirrors. A reset is going to happen I just don’t know what straw will finally break the camels back. Stock up on home defense, a few great dogs, guns and ammo. If we do go the way of the Great Depression those that successfully make it through will be living in a stronger, greater America. Only the strong and self sufficient will still be standing. You can’t continue growing generations of takers forever. Sooner or later the weight is simply too much. Everything man destroys with ignorance will be corrected one way or another until the world ends. Is this the end? No one knows. Reverting back to a simpler existence and moving away from excess, waste and irresponsibly is how I’ve always lived my life. I suspect many will join this mindset as we move forward.

Agree. I hope we don't end up owning Gaza either. It's just inviting more trouble that we don't need in this country.

I hate that sleeping on this changed my opinion.

First reaction:

Hell no. I hate everything about this.

Current opinion:

Trump just ended a permawar between Hamas and Israel by informing them they will no longer have a common border. . . one way or another.

It's not a bluff. But it will have the effect of "sharpening" the thinking of everyone in the region. I'd expect some frantic counteroffers.

In his inimitable way, Trump is generating new options in a land that had none. And he's doing it by presenting himself as the "common enemy" to both sides. (Here I am assuming Israel's government is choking on this idea too.)

The last thing I want is the USA owning Gaza. But if it's also the last thing all the countries in that region want, something productive could come out of it.

Regarding "takers", a lot (NOT all) of the blame goes to MY generation...the Baby Boomers. I suspect I will be gone by the time it ends. I am concerned about family members who will be left behind. But, I have warned them all. Hopefully, they have taken it to heart. Then again, I'm like the late great Rodney Dangerfield...I get no respect.:) I identify with you, cocks rule, in that I'm personally debt-free. By the way, I have 2 dogs. They are small (a Beagle and a Yorkie Terrier). But, they are vicious. :)

Little dogs are ferocious! My cocker spaniel is the greatest alarm system I’ve ever witnessed. No ups, fed ex or dog walks within half a mile of my house goes by unwarned. 😂

Your Gomer-In-Training (GIT) education seems to be coming along very nicely.

At this rate, you might have you GIT Degree by mid to late Spring.

We all know this transition from being a football expert to a political expert has been a tough transition for you.

However, obtaining your GIT should open up a world of new possibilities.

Notice how you have to deflect from the actual discussion. Your transition just highlights you guys have no sincerely held beliefs.

FWIW. I've decided to leave this thread alive, but feel free to use the moderator tools to let me know if something gets too out of hand and I'll try to address it. I want to believe the only way we become less divided is to allow some spaces where different opinions exist and are expressed, and that's a rarity with the algorithms of modern social media. I'll look into creating a full forum for you guys to talk off-topic stuff. In the meantime:

You guys try to play nice and have healthy debate without threats or fomenting an uprising or something.
Thanks Caleb. I’m actually enjoying the political banter.

So our Health and Human Services Secretary has to be overseen by a Senator to adequately do his job.

What a time to be alive.

I noticed USPS has quickly reversed their decision to ban some cheaper items coming in from China. Lots of Americans order from TEMU. Can't imagine they'd be happy with their packages they've ordered not being delivered.

He's been a big boost for the Democrats. A lot of hispanic voters thought Trump really wouldn't go through with it, so it's motivating those swing voters back toward the Democrats.

Trump’s Homeland Security Secretary, Kristi Noem, announced the rollback of TPS extension for Venezuelans.

Noem falsely asserted that Venezuelans here under TPS “violate our laws.”

Even Miami’s Republican congressional delegation said in a statement that it’s “still not safe” for many Venezuelans here to return to Venezuela, a number of which voted for Donald Trump.

“Many Venezuelans have arrived in our country and have integrated into our communities, respecting our laws and contributing to the prosperity of our great country,” the joint statement from Republican U.S. Rep’s. Mario Diaz-Balart, Maria Elvira Salazar and Carlos Jimenez said.

“We will continue to do everything possible to ensure that those seeking freedom from persecution and oppression are protected.”

It was unclear whether that meant the Miami Congress members will lobby Trump and Noem to restore the Venezuelan TPS extension Biden issued earlier this month.

Many Venezuelans, especially in South Florida, home to the largest Venezuelan diaspora in the U.S., had assumed Trump would act more favorably toward them since, in his first presidency, he worked actively to try to bring down Venezuela’s regime.

Many are also confused that the Trump administration seems to now have reversed itself on the Maduro regime and have made comments indicating a willingness to cozy up to the dictator.

What a time to be alive.

  1. Cassidy will help hire members of decision making committees for Kennedy.
  2. Cassidy said Kennedy agreed to maintain the CDC’s advisory committee on immunization practices recommendations without changes.
This is unprecedented. A sitting Senator essentially babysitting and having veto power over a cabinet member's selections. One wonders if Cassidy will have time to do anything else. Kennedy agreed to it showing you how desperate he is for any sort of political power that he'd agree to be heavily monitored by someone that fundamentally disagrees with him on a number of key issues.

Cassidy doesn't support RFK. But he's scared of Trump. There is no guarantee he will even run for reelection in 2 years but this makes it seem like he at least wants to keep stay open to the idea.

This is an example of a Senator who would 99.9% of the time vote against a nominee giving the biggest benefit of the doubt in the world for strictly partisan reasons.

Well, Well, Well.

The NYT, Politico, and no doubt many others are being completed exposed.

Completely compromised news.

Gomers, Gomers-in-Training, and Fowls are mystified.

The entire corrupt matrix is being exposed minute by minute.
