I can almost guarantee you it was not his mistake. It was the IRS. At best they are incompetent. At worse they are evil. I know as I battle these bastards every day. The most egregious incident happened this past July. They sent a letter to one of my clients saying he had not paid his payroll taxes for the second quarter of 2022 and included a bill for over $110k. I responded with a letter explaining they were mistaken and sent copies of every receipt from THEIR EFTPS system showing the payments made. These idiots cannot even match up payments off their own system. They continued to send letters even after we responded. We kept sending letters reiterating they were wrong, but they kept sending new billings. We even called them and spent 45 minutes on the phone with them, yet they still sent more letters. Finally, about 2 weeks ago they sent a letter stating he owed no taxes. I spent 7-1/2 hours total on this one issue which I had to bill him for. He didn't even get so much as an apology even though they cost him a lot of money and headaches. This is but one of many issues I've had to deal with the IRS over in the past couple of years.
It's past time to abolish this incompetent, expensive and burdensome agency. They are a menace to the public and cost taxpayers far more than just the taxes they have to pay.

Likely an intentional mistake so they could issue a letter and then publicly proclaim that he hasn't paid his taxes. The leftist media would blast the story everywhere, and if he proves the IRS wrong, they will completely ignore it. I think he turned the tables on them by posting it himself so he could get his side out and have some say in the narrative.
They did the same thing with the $400 million armored Tesla line items in the state department budget. What they didn't count on was nobody editing the document before it was found, so we KNOW it was inserted by the Biden administration in December or before. And we KNOW it was a setup because the Biden admin hated Musk. They had several big events including an EV "summit" and purposely excluded Tesla because he wouldn't give the UAW a slice of the Tesla pie. They never, ever intended to by any Teslas from Elon. It was inserted purely as a poison pill to be found later and drive propaganda in the media.
Dems are straight up crooks and liars. Never trust anything they say or do, and if something looks bad in Washington, always look for the angle that is most advantageous to them. And that angle is usually found by following the money.
All that being said, if he didn't pay all this taxes, he should pay up immediately along with any penalty. And if it was intentional, he should pay the consequences for that too, just like any other American. Well, anyone else except the Bidens. They are above the law.

Great point! Last year my daughter and her husband paid over a million dollars in federal taxes. Two months ago they got a letter from the IRS stating they owed an additional $20,000. Using the idiotic logic by some people on this board, my daughter and her husband didn’t pay their taxes. Those idiotic people only see the $20,000 additional owed (likely due to a minor bookkeeping error)….not the $1 Million+ they already paid for that year.

CBS may soon be on the hook for $20 Billion to Trump for election interference (the obviously doctored Kamala Harris interview). Melania has already won a couple hundred million from CNN in a lawsuit. The Press Secretary, Leavitt, has a $900million lawsuit pending against The View.
