When #23 for UCONN threw that ESPN highlight elbow

If the elbow you are talking about is the one that I saw, the elbow did not touch our player. Good acting job on our part or she was just getting out of the way. If I were a ref, I'd give an unsportsmanlike penalty (like in football) if there is egregious flopping. I'm not sure if our player flopped or was getting away from the elbow to prevent from getting hit.

if anything was unsportsmanlike in that play it was the throwing of the elbow in the first place. she did it all game and wasn't called at all. Thank goodness you're not a ref or we'd have to increase the roster by 5 because everyone would foul out with all the fake flopping that goes on---most of which result in a bad call.

The only reason she didn't hit her with that elbow is that Mitchell had good reactions in ducking it. A lot of people are looking at the final score and not went into the game making that score. Any basketball game can be turned with some bad calls at strategic times.

A thrown elbow does not have to make contact to be a foul, and if determined intentional could be a flagrant 2 and immediate ejection.

At that time, in that gym, no way it's going be called unless there was blood.
