A backward pass is a live ball until full possession is gained. He may have been on the ground but he was trying to gain full possession—which he did not.
Yep. On one of the long passes. Both hands in the back with both arms extended fully with the push. Clear as day. No way the ref didn't see it.
Yeah. I was trying to explain it to some Clemson fan before the referees made the announcement it was our ball and they just couldn't understand that the ground can't cause a fumble, but it can cause an incompletion and a backwards incompletion is a fumble.
