Will all 14 SEC schools have to vote on OU and Texas to join SEC?

Yes. And the vote will be 14-0. If A&M can find three votes against, it will be 14-0 against. If they can’t it will be 14-0 for. United front either way

Blank Texas and Oklahoma in the blank.
Texas especially they've ruined every conference they've ever been in.

Usually yes but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s 13-1 with A & M shooting the middle finger to Texas….but Sankey will probably ask for everything to be “unanimous”

You have no idea, and I have been for years over this type of thing. There is an ongoing argument over whether capital punishment is a deterrent. I can assure you it is, because that is the only thing keeping me from murdering the various scum that continue to ravage college football.
You need to take up golf. Then you can turn some of that anger on yourself.

I am told that A&M is trading a "Yes" vote for not being in Texas pod with Texas, OU and Arky. Not sure who the 4th member will be, maybe Missouri. It was going to be 13-1 as the money is too good.

To be fair the SWC just couldn't continue. It had huge schools like Texas and A&M with 54,000 students on campus, and tiny schools like Rice and SMU. Rice had 4,000 students and if you added all of their living alumni together it wasn't as many as on Texas or A&M's campus. The SWC just wasn't going to continue, it didn't make sense.

That was in 1994, and A&M decided to go SEC and Texas to the Pac-10 (our faculty loved Stanford and Cal Berkeley). But the Governor then was a Baylor grad and the LT Governor a Tech grad, and they forced both A&M and Texas into the Big 12 arrangement to shelter Baylor and Tx Tech. Neither A&M nor Texas wanted to be in the Big 12. Now neither will be.

I'm trying to think back in time. Why did all of the other schools leave the Big 12, like Colorado, Missouri, Nebraska, etc.?

Whatever Texas did, they did because they were one of only two BIG BOYS in the conference, and they were the BIGGER BIG BOY of the two. That ain't gonna be the case in the SEC.

Good insight! Especially with your boots on the ground there in Texas. I could see the Aggies using this as leverage. The Aggies can’t stop the SEC from offering Texas, but they could use their dissatisfaction to at least get a favor from the higher ups at the SEC Headquarters. I could see this happening.

This is the biggest concern I have with Texas. Coming in with the “don’t mess with Texas” attitude isn’t going to cut it in the SEC. They’re used to being the top dog and the cash cow. They’re still a big fish in the SEC, but they’re not exactly the only whale in the ocean.

In the Big 12, Texas was like Andre The Giant with a bunch of midgets. In the SEC there are plenty of Hulk Hogans and other large creatures, so Andre will feel more comfortable not running the show. I don't think this will be the problem you fear and I can assure you on game day a visit to Austin, Texas will be 1000 times more fun than visiting College Station, Texas.

Texas fans have always liked South Carolina, as the two schools both have fan bases knowledgeable about college baseball. That's rare.

Although just between you and me, we did send Will Muschamp as a secret agent to totally destroy your football program. So your feeling of "blank Texas" is probably more deserved than you know.

If Texas A&M and Texas can’t be in the same division, they may need to come up with divisional names other than “East“ and ”West.” Then again, they’ve already got the Aggies in the East. Hmmm.

Perhaps they could do an “Old School“ and “New School” divisional divide. Our division would be Mizzu, Texas A&M, SC, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas (oops, that won’t work), never mind.

We won't have divisions. Either groups of four or no divisions.

If Texas joins the SEC, I will definitely be making a trip out to Austin for the football game….if the Lord keeps me here long enough to see it. I assume it’s 5 years off at the earliest, maybe longer. Don’t want to be morbid. I’m not real old, but no one is promised tomorrow either.

In the end it will be a 14-0 vote in favor. This is going to happen. Its clear as day. If you really listen to Sankey, you can tell this is a done deal. A 13-1 vote with A&M as a no, would make them look really silly and even scared of competing with the Horns again. I am shocked they were actually able to keep it quiet for 6 months.

If A&M is smart and they can, they should use it as leverage to get their choice in the realignment and scheduling. However it plays out, as per usual, I am sure SC will get screwed because Tanner seems to hold zero influence with the league office and just accepts whatever we are given.

And for those saying Texas likes to be the big boy in whatever league they are in, i am not sure how that is totally different from what the SEC already has in Alabama. If you watch the SEC Network and follow league social media, its a pretty constant Tide love fest.

I saw one report that said OU and TX could begin SEC league play as early as 2022.
