--Effort was there and the guys kept fighting despite the score. Six drops and four turnovers made it more difficult than the game needed to be.

--Defensively the game plan was to keep your head in your gap and the Gamecocks didn't do that in the first half.

"It's frustrating that on three drives we didn't execute like we needed to."

--Gamecocks could get Chad Terrell back this week. He did some non-contact stuff in practice and Muschamp's hoping the Gamecocks could get him cleared this week.

--Asked about making a change at quarterback this week, Muschamp said it's "not one position," but the team can't be careless with the football. "That's the bottom line." The team has to do a better job protecting the football across the board and if the player's not doing that, then the coaching staff will make a change.

--Muschamp said he thought Bentley "missed some things in the read standpoint." The team missed a few protections when the game became one-dimensional but the offensive line protected well. Bentley needs to be able to hit some reads better but the receivers need to help him down the field by catching the ball.

--Scarnecchia was effective when he was in and the offensive line needs to protect better. "At that time of the game it was a one-dimensional game and they were teeing off pretty good."

--Asked about the unusual three-down lineman formation, Muschamp said that was something the Gamecocks had through the entire fall camp and even dating back to last spring. "I thought it was very effective."

--Gamecocks knew playing Benny Snell they were going to miss some tackles but they need to bring their feet more when wrapping up. Most of the issues stemmed from that.

--In terms of discipline, the team will have a team meeting Monday morning to address it to talk about "silly and self-inflicted" issues they create.
