If you are talking about the 1976 game between USC vs Ole Miss I can remember the Ole Miss punter's name but sadly I can't remember the USC punter's name. The Ole Miss punter's name was Jimmy Miller and he made a punt that was truly unbelievable. Miller was a bare footed punter and he boomed a punt from the Ole Miss 18 and it landed in the end zone on the fly. The punt was just not long it was also incredibly high. I have watched a lifetime of college football since that game and I have never seen on like it before.
Carlen made the comment on his show the next day he had never seen a punt like that before. And that should give everyone some idea of what an incredible punt Miller made that night.
