Is he getting a lot of playing time? I watch the games but hard for me to single out the linemen. Do you think he'll live up to the 5 star rating in the coming years based off what you are seeing this year?

Kinlaw didn't live up to his billing until the last 2 years. He has been thrown in without development.

ZP is just learning how to play inside.. He will be fine once he learns how to play with leverage. His first move often is to stand straight up after snap.. He can't get away with that in this league.. I still think we are lucky to have him though. He's going to be very good for us when the switch gets flipped

Pickens will be fine. But not all 5 stars are equal. He isnt a Clowney who just dominated from day one. Plus he has been moved inside. In a perfect world an interior player like that gets to redshirt. Get stronger, and learn the position better before being thrown into the fire. USC doesnt have that luxury right now. He will be fine.

Clowney actually took a few games before he made a real impact .
By end of his first season he showed his potential

He will be a good player. Like others have said, some players are just not ready to be a key contributor their freshman year. Not sure if it's physical, mental, or technique, but he will be a player in the future.

He has got plenty of time to learn how to play DT in the SEC. He will be a stud in years to come. When he is in there he is not getting knocked around. Which happens to a lot of freshman DTs. Not concerned about his future

Hasn't Kinlaw only been on the team for 2 seasons, this being his second?

Pickens is playing a bunch of snaps. He's been productive on the interior of the line, even though his stats are not eye popping. He's been in the backfield a number of times and he is taking on double teams allowing the LB's to plug holes.

Yes on Kinlaw and he moved through the JUCO ranks. Not sure he had a huge billing with most Gamecock fans. We have had our share of failed 4 and 5 star JUCO's.

Exactly . Clowney didn’t even start for most of his freshman season . Ingram and Devin Taylor were so good . The UGA game where he had the two sacks and force fumble he was just being used situationally . Very hard to start coming right out of HS at this level .

This is Kinlaws third year with our team
He has developed well in his time here and will make a lot of money come draft day

He’s a DT. DT’s need a year or two in the S&C program to get going.
