“U of SC” 🤮

Wasn't the University going that direction at one time. I remember a campaign regarding "The University of South Carolina." If so, we should've stuck with it, it has work for The Ohio State University....though they weren't able to trademark the work "The."

That was back when Dr. Palms was president. He pushed for THE USC. It didn't get much traction though, maybe because we aren't Ohio State.

I happen to like UofSC. It sounds good to me. But most of the time, I just refer to us as South Carolina.

It was "The USC", that was the campaign.

It was a Holderman invention. They even put 'THE' on the smokestack - then took it off several years ago. Wish they had taken town the smokestack, too, and put up an iconic carillon in its place.

as USC is The University of South Carolina. The primary university in SC .
