Great win with two highlight goals. Fisk on a downward snapping power header to the far post. Riley Tanner’s goal should have made SC top ten. She took the ball on the touch line and nutmegged not one but two defenders, how cheeky, and then beat the GK far post.
It is always interesting to hear the opposing coach and players after a match. Their refrain was that it was an even match. USC convertered their chances and we didn’t. I have to question the reality that they live in.
Kansas did control the first 20 minutes of the match and out shot 5-0 in that span. Only one ball was somewhat well struck and it was an easy save. After that we controlled possession and out shot them 13-5.
Kansas pulled their star, Katie McClure with 10 minutes in the half. Not because she was tired, but frustrated and yelling at her teammates.
In the second half we ran them silly and dominated. Bahr hit the post and Mikula and Gareis had breakaways stopped by magnificent plays by their keeper, otherwise it is 5-0. We played keep away and they were reduced to pitiful chasing, confusion and yelling at each other.
