I hope the offense going forward will incorporate a healthy diet of FB/TE combo players that can catch the short screen pass, and also run the ball in some situations into the offensive attack.
Few teams see that approach anymore and really aren't prepared for it because they don't practice against it.
It's an old school approach but I am not calling for it to be our offensive attack- just incorporated into it some.
Clemson was totally unprepared for that in our game- because so few teams have those plays.
It would really be effective if we practice it and get good at it. I am not sure we beat Clemson without it- even if we throw out of the set.
My fear is a new o-coordinator will not have that in the offense. Heck it took us all year to really start to do it.
