The worst part of this isn't your joke....it is that Jacksonville State has a MUCH more decorated and seasoned HC for their football program than the Univ. of South Carolina does.
The funny thing is this BS reporting being done out in Oklahoma is exactly the same BS that Rich Rod used back during our search. We never even considered him but you can find articles that say otherwise. Journalists now are click bait artists and nothing more. They can be wrong 50% and as long as people still click their articles they will remain employed.
Misinformation disseminated professionally by media people isn't even blinked at anymore.
The "reporter" on here everyone is quoting blows with the wind. I tried to tell them. He literally says on his FB now that he has no clue who Oklahoma is going after but that Oklahoma should go after Matt Rhule first. Literally, hours after he said Venables and Beamer were 1&2. People literally fall for anything...just add a link. Hell with thinking.
Did you point this out "elsewhere" on the board? I've been kinda busy to wade into the crapfest.
I'm good. They will probably say I'm making it up. He literally says, "I have no idea who OU will hire"...then says but this is who I would try to hire. Facts no longer mean anything. It was always his opinion but folks on here run with it. One guy on here posted one guy's twitter on Beamer and said its heating up. Literally, one fan saying it is heating up.
Seriously, this really depresses me. We are doomed as a society. Technology, while being great, will ultimately end our civilization. Brains are now mush. Everyone just regurgitates "info" not even considering its validity.
This kind of stuff use to be an escape and was just something to pass the time but now its become a chore to wade through the sheer stupidity of some of these posters. Hell, I'm stupid for engaging in it. Damn sure isn't productive lol
I actually started my college career at Jacksonville State University in 1976 before moving back to South Carolina in April of 1977. I may be one of the few South Carolina graduates that attended both universities. They are the only two universities with the name "Gamecock" as their mascot in our entire college landscape. At the time, it was way cheaper going there and the formally known Troy State University (Troy University) as compared to Alabama and Auburn. My father was an Electrical Engineer and worked at the time for Alabama Power in Anniston. He hated the job and we later moved to Rock Hill, South Carolina where he became the Director of Utilities from 1977 until he retired. This was our second move from Alabama to South Carolina and that is how I ended up in Columbia.
I am sincerely impressed by your achievements and adaptability. But other than simply saying, "I-77" how did you escape this hell hole called Rock Hill? Columbia is definitely an upgrade.
To be honest, I was not there in Rock Hill much except for the first year. To save money, I commuted to USC-Lancaster from 1977-1978 and earned my two-year degree there while living with my parents. From there, I just transferred down to Columbia and spent two years there as an undergraduate. Upon graduation in May of 1980, I entered Graduate School to earn my Master's Degree in Criminal Justice. I went to work at the Richland County Sheriff's Department in January of 1981 and continued to go to school at night but I ended up leaving the program. I had a 3.0 average in Graduate School but I was just burned out with the whole university experience at that point and did not finish my Master's Degree, Within two years, I was out of Columbia and on my way to Charlotte. That is where I finished my career and retired at age 52. I am now 63. Not too shabby.
PS: The worst thing I saw in Columbia, through crime scene photos, was the Root Doctor murders that took place there. I got stuck guarding the house one night (after the crime). There was a rumor he had large sums of money hidden in the home and the house had to be protected post homicide for awhile. Later in my brief career with the RCSD, I was one of many deputies assigned to guard Pee Wee Gaskins during his last murder trial, the one that put him on death row. I remember he has such a squeaky voice when we took him from the holding area to the elevator and up to the courtroom. Sheriff Powell had assigned two of our biggest deputies to personally escort him to and from the courtroom itself. He was later put to death for that crime but I had already left Columbia.
Exactly. The guy never said he had insider knowledge. He was speculating and said so. But on here 90% of the posters never bother to read past the headline.
