11.5-point favorite against Iowa?

Czinano will neutralized by Boston. Beal will make Clark work for her points. Then what will they do with Saxton, Cardoso? Even Cooke has been down right fiesty lately. The passing lanes will collapse faster than they are accustomed. I'm not taking the over, but I would be shocked if it came down to the last possession.
I think we could possibly win much bigger. Monika Czinano is their only real post player at 6-3. If we attack her in the paint we could get her into foul trouble. Then we can double up on Caitlin Clark a bunch with a big and a guard. If we can contain her we're off to the races.
Vegas been pretty close on for all our games in the tournament.

I watched Iowa's game with Louisville the other night. Iowa's other small guard Gabbie Marshall and G/F McKenna Warnock are good shooters from 3 point land. Cant just guard Clark.

How Good is Iowa? How good was Louisville ? I thought Louisville would win by more than 10 points. Carolina will outlast Iowa, becasue they have the depth to play man to man defense for the entire game. But there is always an upset to fear if Iowa makies over 50% ot their 3 point attempts.

We won't shut Clark down totally, we just need to contain her like we did to Paige Bueckers in last year's final.
Wow. I would expect a -4.5 on that one. Tops. When you have two teams that appear evenly matched, and the line is over 10, Vegas knows something.
I do. Who has Iowa played? They dominate an 11 loss Louisville team and everyone think they are the second coming. This same team lost to Maryland by 28 3 weeks ago. You need to have competitive fear as they have enough to get us in a one game situation, but we should beat this team by double digits if we bring our game to Dallas.

As a gambler I follow this. You can bet it if you wish but just understand if we hit one lull in that game like the start of the Maryland and UCLA game, the back door cover will be in play for Iowa. Vegas wants betting to be equal on both sides so the line has to be juiced.
The first game was an easy cover for Norfolk State. We didn’t need to run them into the ground with a short turn around. With the longer break we took care of business against USF. UCLA & Maryland are examples where we “could have” covered but things get crazy in the final minute. If you have money on these games you know all about that.
We’re 1-3 against the spread and as much publicity as we get I’m sure Vegas loves that because of the people that bet women’s basketball I’m sure a lot of them bet on South Carolina
Iowa played mostly big10 teams this year and didnt really play anyone challenging outside of conference except UConn.

Achilles heel for Iowa is a horrible defense. I can see them playing lots of zone and sagging.
Gamecocks will limit Iowa to a one shot possession, dominate the boards on both sides. Gamecocks by 15.
I was right — don’t know how all y’all couldn’t see it.
I’ve seen it for 4 years. Staley refuses to recruit perimeter shooters. I’ve said that poor outside shooting and inconsistency at the free throw line would bite us in the Ass. Iowa absolutely dared us to shoot from outside, and we couldn’t do it. No defense by Iowa on the perimeter.
