Tennessee should be a really good job, but in my opinion the fans seriously detract from the job's appeal. The fans turn on the coaches in a heartbeat. Bruce Pearl was the only men's basketball coach they ever loved and they can't get over it at this point. The petition that went around demanding that Cuonzo Martin be fired and Pearl re-hired, in the midst of Martin taking them to the Sweet 16, was ridiculous. Cuonzo felt heat from the fans from the get-go and I suspect that idiotic petition was the final straw in him bolting for Cal. Tyndall seemed popular this year, but I'm sure the UT faithful would have turned on him quickly if they didn't have a top team next year. But that's moot at this point, and now UT is left trying to hire a new coach.

I'd say that assessment is pretty accurate. Cuonzo Martin was run out of town basically for being "not Pearl." A good coach, maybe even a great one, and they dropped him like a lump of dirt.

Anyways, can't say Tyndall's dismissal is bad for us. Two new coaches in two years is a textbook case in how to destabilize your program. I would expect their recruiting to eat it, and with what was easily their best player graduating this year, they're in for a rough ride.

UTe fans are too much for the Devil to endure if you're an opposing fan let alone a coach of ANY Vile team. I hate that place and that filthy hilltop town, Knoxville.

Why does Tenn always seem to go after shady characters? It serves them right.
