Hadn't thought about that beatdown Georgia put on TCU in the NC championship game in a while.

Anybody think that changes how the committee looks at teams this year?

Great question but I don’t think so. While a lot of people bash TCU, they did beat Michigan on a neutral field and no one is claiming Michigan didn’t belong. Michigan beat Ohio State and OSU gave Georgia everything they wanted.

The expansion of the playoff is going to allow for the TCUs to be a part of the playoff going forward. Unfortunately it’s also going to give Alabama two mulligans a year until Nick Saban leaves. They lost two games this year and was the “first team out” so basically they’ll get 2-3 losses a year and still be in the playoff.

Yeah, that's the downside of the expanded playoffs. Clemson will almost always be in.

But the expanded playoffs only help us too. Almost impossible, playing in the SEC, for us to get in the top 4. Expanded gives us a chance.

This is why I’m a big fan of the expanded playoff. If we’re perfectly honest, history suggests we are unlikely to be in the top 4 very often. However the top 12 is certainly attainable. We’ve done that a few times and been close several others.
