Aaron Fitt of BA reporting what Clemson media would rather sweep under the rug...

There are no real beat writers that cover Clemson that would touch that story with a 50 foot pole.

I am not saying there is a conspiracy- or even a huge story there- but no one covering Clemson is going to ask too many questions on the topic - especially folks like Larry Williams or anyone that works for a website.

Interesting. Talked to two older clemson fans Friday when the firing was announced. They were less than enchanted with D Rad. How much faith can any coach they contact have in this administration if this is true? And, really, it may not have to be "true." Just the whiff of this stench could warn candidates off. Never felt sorry for Leggett before, but there's always a first time for everything... if this is true. But interesting fa' sho'.

Aaronfitt unearths a MASSIVE conspiracy..... A true tale of brashness, brilliance, bravery, and bastardly bereavement brought to light by none other than Baseball America's own, Aaron Fitt.
  • "The more I hear about the circumstances of Jack Leggett's dismissal from #Clemson, the more convinced I am that it was handled very poorly."
  • "I hear Leggett was given every indication Tuesday that his contract would be extended. Then Thursday he was blindsided. He deserved better."
  • "It was also disingenuous - at best - for Dan Radakovich to tell me he didn't think his instructions to Leggett last June would go public..."
  • "considering Radakovich called reporters to his office & specifically enumerated the things he told Leggett to change. Undermined Leggett.

After weeks and weeks of spending hours at time in library after library, my search attempt to find any information to counter Mr. Fitt's claims went nowhere. So, I had to seek professional help in the matter. After months and months of scouring the Himalayas trying to track down a small group of Tibetan monks, I was finally successful. For 19 months I camped with them long enough to finally learn their language well enough to present them with the whole story of why my life was currently at a crossroad. They were very understanding about the quandary I found myself in regarding Aaron Fitt's supercilious claims about Dan Radakovich. My passion and sincere desire to find the answer to this problem struck them so deeply they decided to help me find the answers or lead me down the path to find those answers. 20 of the most wisest leaders of the monks met to figure out how in the world I would be able to go up against such a formidable foe by finding the answers I so desperately sought. A few weeks of restless silence had worn heavily on me and I was almost ready to give up. Finally, they emerged from their meeting and told me I would need to take a seat before they would tell me how to find the answer. Bingsucksdong, the head monk, put his hand on my shoulder and with heavy eyes and a soft voice said, "My son, the answers you seek will be very difficult for you to find and I am sorry that the only piece of advice that we can give you is but one word, Google."

Retained but not extended, Jack Leggett must prove progress to stay at Clemson into future
....The message was pretty clear from Dan Radakovich to Jack Leggett exiting their postseason pow-wow last week.
Leggett is still Clemson's head coach, and will be so on Opening Day 2015. Future opening days, though, must be proven with recent, not historic, success......

Radakovich on Clemson baseball: “We’ll see how the rest of the season plays out”
....Although the Tigers find themselves at 13-13 with one game left in March, Radakovich wants to evaluate the whole season before deciding what to do with Leggett, the Hall of Famer whose job security was reviewed last summer and who has two years remaining on his contract........“So at this point in time, where we are is the middle of baseball season, and we’re going to see where we end up,” Radakovich said.........Radakovich instituted a series of changes to the baseball program last summer, including sports psychiatrists, a player-led council and offseason visits to other coaching staffs to help turn around a club which hasn’t made the College World Series since 2010......

Clemson AD ousts Jack Leggett, says, "I think we can be better'
....."Clemson fired longtime baseball coach Jack Leggett on Thursday after the Tigers' second straight 0-2 appearance in the NCAA tournament"........"This decision was not an easy one,” Radakovich said. “Jack Leggett has served this institution with distinction for 24 years, the last 22 as head coach. It’s fair to say Clemson Baseball has been competitive over the last few years, but our objective is success, defined by competing for ACC Championships and winning in the NCAA Tournament. I have high expectations – and I know our fans and student-athletes have great expectations – for our baseball program"..........
*******The Tigers' ace, right-hander Matthew Crownover, posted on Twitter that he came to Clemson because of Leggett.
"He will always be my coach. He deserved better," he said.********

Clemson A.D. Dan Radakovich and baseball coach Jack Leggett address direction of baseball program
....."Over the past week, I had several productive conversations with Coach Leggett as we completed a season-ending evaluation of the program. Prior to the meeting, I sought input from a variety of sources, both within our program and from the outside. The evaluation showed reasons for optimism moving forward, and we look forward to the 2015 season under the leadership of Coach Leggett."....."This past season’s results were not to Clemson’s standards, and Coach and I are working together to improve many areas of the program, some which will be visible and others behind the scenes.".....Jack Legget said, "I truly appreciate the support and passion of our baseball community and we all want to win at the highest level, especially the coaches and players in the program. We did not have the kind of year that I had hoped for and it is my responsibility to lead us back to the standards we have set for Clemson Baseball."

UPDATED: Radakovich Chooses Mediocrity
"And now we start to find out just what kind of Athletic Director Dan Radakovich chooses to be. Will he shake things up in the department, demanding better performance throughout the sports, or is he just about spending other peoples money and giving ridiculous buyouts? Apparently he has chosen the latter. Clemson announced that Jack Leggett and his entire staff will return to the dugout next season."........

Clemson AD Dan Radakovich taking hard look at Jack Leggett and Tigers' baseball program
"So you talk about parity in basketball and parity in football," Radakovich said, "I think it's now trickled down to college baseball."
"We have to get better. That's not an excuse. That's just the reality of college baseball right now."
Asked specifically if Leggett has the administration's full support, Radakovich took the wait-and-see approach.
"That's a hard thing to say. Everybody has their support. I'd love to say I'm with our coaches win, lose or tie," Radakovich said. "Yes, Jack's earned some things. He's put some dollars in the bank."
Last October, Radakovich insisted on seeing improvement from the basketball program before he'd commit to Brownell long-term. Radakovich did, and Clemson is.
A similar situation befalls Leggett, whose team is in danger of missing the NCAA tournament for just the second time in 28 years and is staring down its fourth straight non-CWS season, the longest drought in Leggett's 23-year tenure."

All-in-all, the taters are gunna have a tough time shaking the stink off of this dehumanizing treatment of a baseball God.

To any of the people out there who say the Clemson vs South Carolina rivalry isn't in the top 5 of the best in college athletics, have no souls.

Come one guys and gals. You know good and well y'all would have fired his ass years ago with this level of performance. You wouldn't have put up with it as long as we did. Hall of Fame be damned. Pretty sure you did in fact. I think June Raines was fired? I apologize in advance if my memory fails me. I am old as dirt.
