Yep, last year proved it doesn’t benefit a team much to play tougher teams in their schedule.

Yeah, I'm ready to drop Clemscum. Beating them gains us nothing over beating SC State. Losing to them with more than one loss in our SEC schedule knocks us out.

Meanwhile, Clemson is never really out of playoff contention because they still have a chance to win the shitty ACC. They made it with 3 regular season losses last year. We didn't, and probably wouldn't have made it with even 2 losses. I never for a minute believe we would have been picked over 2 loss Tennessee. And we wouldn't have been picked over a 2 loss SMU because their second loss came in the ACC "championshit".
