No, our stupid coaches and their mismanagement of the bullpen blew it.Never have I seen our bullpen blow more late inning leads.
Should've went with Johnson. I know he threw around 40 last night but they could've run him out there for 20-30 to see what he could do.Should have gone to mound and calmed down Bowers or pulled him. He couldn't find strike zone until he served up the grand slam to Schwartz.
YepShould've went with Johnson. I know he threw around 40 liars night but they could've run him out there for 20-30 to see what he could do.
He is our only true closer.
That's how we lost him for month this season.Should've went with Johnson. I know he threw around 40 liars night but they could've run him out there for 20-30 to see what he could do.
He is our only true closer.
I think the answer he throw 46 pitches last night is why. I believe I saw him in the dugout.I've asked that too....
No, we lost him for a month this season because he wasn't 100% to begin the season and they worked him back too fast. That's how we lost him for month this season.
According to Gamecocksonline he threw 39, but you're right.I think the answer he throw 46 pitches last night is why. I believe I saw him in the dugout.
I thought those crack announcers said 46 but it doesn't really matter...lol. I'm like you, where was Scott?According to Gamecocksonline he threw 39, but you're right.
BTW, where's Reed Scott? Why haven't we seen him. Did I miss something?
he will not have to pitch again for close to a week, this game was way too important, johnson should have been on the mound PERIOD,he is only reliable option out of the pen right nowShould've went with Johnson. I know he threw around 40 last night but they could've run him out there for 20-30 to see what he could do.
He is our only true closer.
then he should not be in the pen at all if he is injuredNot after being injured.
They did it vs CU, and Johnson wasn't 100% then.No way do you send Johnson back out there after throwing 40+ pitches,,,day game after a night game,,you don't do that with a healthy player
i agree if that is an issue put him in civies and let him sit in dugout!!.They did it vs CU, and Johnson wasn't 100% then.
I'd venture to say this series was bigger than the CU series, and Johnson is in better shape now than he was then.
Send it into a dumpster fire? It's already signed, sealed and delivered. It would be beyond short-sighted to throw Johnson back out there today. Good way to blow it kid's arm and send our season into dumpster fire.
It all depends on the individual. I see no reason they couldn't send him to the bullpen to let him loosen up and see how he feels. Maybe even send someone from the staff with him to see if he's hitting his spots once he's loose and throwing hard or if he shows signs of tension or fatigue.i agree if that is an issue put him in civies and let him sit in dugout!!.
excellent points, if it was TJ's decision, then i think everyone would be okay with it..It all depends on the individual. I see no reason they couldn't send him to the bullpen to let him loosen up and see how he feels. Maybe even send someone from the staff with him to see if he's hitting his spots once he's loose and throwing hard or if he shows signs of tension or fatigue.
Then again, maybe he already told the staff he couldn't go, which we'll never know. So it's all speculation anyway to a group of pissed off fans.
And if he would of blew out his arm then it's the coaches faulthe will not have to pitch again for close to a week, this game was way too important, johnson should have been on the mound PERIOD,he is only reliable option out of the pen right now
