Anyone know the facts/story concerning Kitt's not being allowed to play yesterday?

They stated that it was an academic issue ... (LOL!!! I'm certain that she can spell her name without assistance) but, it's somewhat odd that she wasn't allowed to play, yet allowed to dress, allowed to sit on the bench and allowed to travel out-of-state, with the team.

The only things I can think of: 1} It was a Coach Staley benching (for whatever reason) or 2) She just skipped an exam/test without permission.

C'mon, .... dudes playing in their 7th year of eligibility?, dudes playing for their 3rd & 4th school?, a ROYAL A-hole suing the NCAA for additional eligibility since N.I.L. wasn't allowed during his first two years? An NFL Player getting his degree 15 years after flunking out and without ever having attended another class since???

SERIOUSLY .... I used to think it was only about the $$$... NO!!!! It's only about the stupidity. They used to call it Prostitution ... making money for using your body, for display or abuse ... now they're called Sex Industry Workers or Professional Athletes.

My guess is that she had a class attendance issue or skipped some sort of mandatory study session.

The only other thing I can think of would be that she's missed so much work in a class that it caught the attention of her teacher or tutors.

The son of a friend of my wife already had her son quit mid-semester at a small college and return home. He wasn't doing well adjusting to being away from home and wasn't going to class anymore. He's a good kid so it wasn't that he went crazy at school. Just wasn't doing his work.

I was glad to see the suspension. I think it shows the coaching staff takes things seriously and you have to take care of your business first.

Watkins misses one game after pleading guilty for assault and kidnapping and entering PTI.
Kitts misses one game for missing some classes.
Yeah, sounds about right in this day and time.

She was suspended from all team activities from the start of the pre-season practice, all the way to early November.

She missed the trip to Memphis to play in the St Jude exhibition event. She missed the home exhibition game against Clayton State. She missed the trip to Las Vegas. She also missed the trip to the White House with her teammates.

So, it was more than just one game.

No, it was just one game. The other things you mention were not games. Barely a slap on the wrist.

She missed more than 1 game. She missed exhibition games, 2 months of practices, and 2 trips with her teammates, including one dedicated to honoring the national championship team that she was a key part of.

Being suspended from the team and not being able to travel with her teammates and team is punishment. You might not like it, but that doesn't matter a damn bit.

Coach Staley's job isn't to please JGH 35.

I believe if you check our official record it is 2-0. We've only played two games. Exhibition games are basically scrimmages against sacrificial lambs.

Posting that she "just missed one game" is misleading and isn't a complete picture of the punishment that was handed out.

You need to learn to read and comprehend before commenting. I only compared the number of games each missed (nothing else) which is 100% accurate. You threw in Exhibitions which are not games. Our record is 2-0. If Exhibition scrimmages were games our record would be 4-0, but it is not. I was 100% correct and you are wrong. Just deal with your error and move along.

Yeah, sounds about right in this day and time.

Watkins also was suspended and missed over 2 months of practices, 2 trips, 2 exhibition games, and 1 regular season game.

If you are going to compare the suspensions of two players and make a negative comment about the comparison, post a complete picture of the two suspensions.

In addition, we don't know if it was just for "missing some classes." We know it was academic in nature. Could have been "missing some classes" or something more than that, or a combination, or something different. We don't know other than it was academic in nature.

Regardless, she sure isn't suspended for 2 months from the team like Watkins was.

Again, reading comprehension is not your friend. I was only comparing games missed, nothing else. You added other shit that wasn't part of my discussion. LEARN TO READ!!!!! If I wanted to compare other possible (mostly insignificant stuff) I would have.
The FACT REMAINS they BOTH missed ONE GAME. PERIOD!!!!!!

We would be criticizing any other coach if their player got off so lightly for domestic violence.

you only compared "games missed" which doesn't come close to accurately depicting the two suspensions - which you were doing.

I provided an accurate accounting of what the suspensions entailed which is the only fair way to make a comparison.

AND, I never said I was making a comparison of 2 suspensions - only games suspended. I, nor you, even know if there were any other sanctions against Kitts. They've never said. Only that she missed a game. You cannot make a fair comparison of punishment if you you only know part of the information. AGAIN, READ, READ, READ....if you are capable.

Doesn’t matter. It was still domestic abuse.

Well, no it isn't. It has a very specific definition.

It can be assault. But it's not domestic violence and wasn't charged as such.

Two guy roommates on campus with one slugging the other is almost never going to be charged or considered domestic violence either.

Which is a comparison of the suspensions based only on a regular season game as specifically mentioned.

So to be correct, I provided an accurate accounting of what the suspensions entailed which is the only fair way to make a comparison.

Watkins faced the much more severe suspension which makes your "sounds about right this day and time" comment a really stupid one.

We would make fun of any other school for making the same argument you’re making.

If two roommates were in a physical relationship, it absolutely should be domestic violence if they fight.

A state law that doesn’t protect domestic violence victims isn’t something you should be hiding behind.

I wouldn't because it wouldn't make any sense. I'm not going to invent facts of the case to try to make a point. That doesn't make any sense either.

Watkins wasn't living with this other girl. - It's not domestic violence. You want it to be. It's not.

I'm not going to lie to myself to make it fit what I want it to fit.

We've talked this subject to death, mainly because some of the folks don't like Coach Staley. Grow the hell up and get over it.

She went through the legal process and PTI. (PTI is also available for some domestic violence cases by the way- even though this wasn't one). She was suspended for 2 months. She paid her price and the only person that matters, Coach Staley, reinstated her.

if this was a key football player and the same thing had happened, most of the same people whining would be screaming bloody murder that the player was suspended at all.

No one is inventing facts. You're making material omissions, which is worse than someone inventing facts. Because that means you're trying to hide the truth. Which in this case is denying a minor was domestically abused.

Watkins and the victim were in an admitted romantic relationship. If you're seriously trying to argue that abusing your romantic partner isn't domestic violence, you need to have a moment of self reflection

Two wrongs don't make a right. You know that and should be better than making such a poor argument.

Where? Where TF did say it was a comparison of all punishment? I have consistently said it was a comparison of games while you just make up shit because you're wrong. As I said above, you cannot make a fair comparison of punishment because you don't know all the facts. You don't know what else may have been done to Kitts for her violation. It has not been reported.

She wasn't domestically abused. They didn't live together. You are inventing definitions.

All we know is that Watkins said the other girl was her girlfriend. There is no such claim by the other person that we know of. So we don't know if that is true, or if Watkins was the only person that considered it that way.

We do know the younger girl was there to visit her "best friend" which was not Watkins.

She wasn't charged with domestic violence (which is common charge in South Carolina). That's because it wasn't considered domestic violence.

And she went through the process and charges were dropped. End of story.

The mental gymnastics you’re doing right now are off the wall.

But your post is exactly why Trump is so successful. People will completely suspend logic to come to the conclusion they want.

But at the end of the day I can’t make @Ward Jr admit he’s wrong about anything and I can’t make you admit it either. But objectively, you’re absolutely wrong on this one.

And domestic violence really isn’t something you should be ok with being wrong about.

You're one logical man living in an illogical world. Everyone just needs to catch up. Hang in there. :)

She didn't commit domestic abuse. As bad as you wish she did, she didn't.

It's critical to be precise. You can't invent stuff because you want to invent it (other than when it only applies to you- then you can invent any fantasy you like).

She got into a fight with another girl that she called her girlfriend. That's it.
