I think hiring him meant that we ARE starting completely over.
Keeping him might mean completely rebuilding again this year with what we can get and rebuilding again next year when we can get something better.

Shane is going to be faced with an ENORMOUS building job here. If he finishes .500, he should win coach of the year.
Maybe Shane came in and laid down the law for players and coaches, just like in every other facet of life some will choose to stay while others leave. I hope that is the case, get onboard or get the hell out.
There is no starting over with Beamer. Yes, we will start over with assistants. They have a Plan B. If they don't they will come up with one.

I’m sure Auburn’s AD has already talked Ray into waiving the buyouts for Bobo and Friend in exchange for a bag of magic beans and granting us permission to interview Steele and Morris for our coordinator positions (assuming Ray actually signed those contracts).
Folks I didn't think this could get any worse, but the dumpster fire that is USC football continues to grow. Sad thing is that Ray isn't going to have to pay a price for the debacle. He can ride the misguided Beamer hire into retirement as he points to Covid, a rebuild, and how Beamer is the next Dabo.
