CFP is a joke

Sucks because we probably beat all 4 teams who have played so far.

The only teams we might struggle with in the first round would be the other SEC teams.

My hope is all the teams that shouldn’t be there, get curb stomped. Indiana was whooped for 3 qtr. now SMU.
We can only hope for Clempson to get the same.

I say the more teams the better. I dont understand why anyone would want less meaningful games. Meaningful meaning do or die. Gotta get rid of byes though. SMU came within a second of getting one. That's just plain wrong.

Penn State (who I don’t think is that good) and had a breeze of a regular schedule, is getting fed the cupcake teams even in the post season. SMU and Boise. 😒

This is a rare occasion that i’m pulling for Clemson. Hoping they bring something back to the State. They aren’t doing so hot right now though. Clem 10/Texas 28 at the half.

Screw em. Hoping for a WV bowl game type result. 70-10 works

I pull for Clemson ever game. Pull for them to lose

Never pull for Clemson.

Simple, easy solution: They need to base playoff participants on merit, the American way. For those that don't qualify, they get to go to meaningless bowls. Why is that so hard? Grow a pair NCAA bigwigs.

Agreed. They do it for basketball. Not just about wins and losses with zero consideration to strength of schedule. No reason they can't do it in football too.

What exactly is the alternative to the playoff in the middle of December? I mean was there ever any good bowl games on this time of year? No harm no foul if you ask me. Now we have an eight team playoff starting Dec 31.

The games so far are just boring. Next year I’ll be sure to do something else besides watching blowout first round games.

Will all #12 vs #5 or #8 vs #9 and such be blowouts in the future? Perhaps if they continue to rank the teams they way they do. IDK. I am hoping the rankings are addressed. In fact I am hoping these mismatches produce change. I know for a fact a lot of people hope they do. These blowouts are more about showing how bad the powers that be are at their one job than anything else if you ask me. And I gotta think a more accurate ranking would produce better results. So if you think I am satisfied with the way this production is produced you are mistaken. Truth is if no changes are made I might skip the first round as well.

Maybe, just maybe, it's about viewers and not the best 12 teams. Imagine if the ACC would have been left out like they should have been. That narrows the market for viewers, and that's not good for ad money.

Nobody cares whos left out. We all want great evenly matched down to the wire battles. Nobody’s gonna sit and watch blowouts over by middle of second quarter.

Use computers to pick the best 12 by all competitive metrics. Set it and forgot it. Take politics outta the mix and let it go.

Speaking of money, I gotta wonder if getting a first round bye means a loss opportunity to make money. And if a team that can get through the first round and get to the championship game would end up "winning" more money than a bye team even if the bye team won the championship.

Sounds like a perfect job for Artificial Intelligence (AI).

People forget how few of these games actually exist. We played 4 of these games out of 12. The one of those 4 who actually made the playoffs then got blown out by their opponent.

Football games tend to be one sided.

Long as this AI programmer is not involved.

After analyzing every college football bowl game, the Al PickBot says the No. 12 seed Clemson Tigers (+13.5, 50.5) cover comfortably on Saturday against the No. 5 seed Texas Longhorns in the first round of the College Football Playoff at 4 p.m. ET.

Clemson lost three games during the regular season, but it was able to secure a spot in the CFP with a win over SMU in the ACC Championship. The Tigers are led by star quarterback Cade Klubnik, who has completed 63.7% of his passes for 3,303 yards and 33 touchdowns.

Yikes! That a big-time failure.
