Full notes will be in this post on what Bobo and T-Rob have to say. Quite a bit to talk about.
--Bobo first and is talking about allegations against him from his time at Colorado State. Said it's been a "difficult time" because he knows who he is. Says he grateful for the support he's gotten from family, friends, players he's coached and families of players.
Said this whole situation's made him want to be better as a person and a coach.
He met with Ray Tanner and was "completely transparent." Tanner talked with several guys on the team and at Colorado State and Bobo says he has "nothing to hide." He said he's "not perfect, and never claimed to be perfect."
Said he loved his time at CSU but they didn't win more games. Said he wished he made some different choices. He "takes offense" to claims to players feeling like he was racial insensitive and racial abusive. He treated people like "I wanted them to treat my child." He appreciates this support from Tanner and Will Muschamp.
--Called the Lloyd injury "devastating." Calls him an "amazing young man" and said he's "been nothing but all-in." He wanted to help South Carolina be successful and he still will. Des Kitchings and a few players have already met with him.
"MarShawn's the type of guy that's going to get through that...Man down, next man up mentality."
--Asked about the other four running backs, said it's tough to judge right now because they haven't put on pads yet. They can look at measurable skills but it's about what a guy does with the ball in his hands.
He said Deshaun Fenwick was player of the day Tuesday and has looked impressive to start camp.
--Asked about the investigation, said he's met with Ray Tanner and doesn't want to comment on it further.
"I have nothing to hide."
--Said there's going to be injuries. Said his focus is trying to help Lloyd get through the situation and the football will fall into place.
--The quarterback competition has been "really good." Ryan Hilinski and Collin Hill are getting the majority of the first team reps (Doty got some). Hilinski took the first team reps day one, Hill day too and Hilinski will take those tomorrow.
--Asked about Hill's injury, said he's moving well and Bobo hasn't noticed him favoring his knee. Hill's mentioned it swells up sometimes but he ices it and can take care of it. Said since he's been through it before, he's not really worried about it.
--Asked how Lloyd's injury happened, said he was in the open field after cutting a run back and went to make a cut and tore it then.
--Rico Powers has taken reps with the first team recently and said he's been impressed with some of the receivers. Told the receivers if only two or three step up he's not afraid to run more two tight end sets or more I-formation stuff.
--Xaiver Legette's dealing with a little bit of an ankle sprain.
--Raves about Luke Doty and says he's all about competing and "being that guy." He's very impressed with Doty. He's been "productive at both positions" so far in practice. Said they will always have some packages at receiver but he's a full-time quarterback.
"If he keeps performing like he did at quarterback the first few days you can see him under center at quarterback."
--Asked about identity, said he has an idea of what they're going to be but that goes back to how things go to practice. Said they'll do a lot of different things but it's about what they're going to "major in" whether that's 11 personnel, 12 personnel or two receiver sets.
--Told Shi Smith he's not going to ask him to be a motivational player or give rah-rah speech but said he asked him to be a good teammate and understand all the positions on camps because they're going to move him around.
--Rico Powers practices hard and is in peak physical conditions. He has a Shi Smith skill set and his focus has been really good. He's starting to catch on pretty quick. He's going to mess up at times but he's shown a lot so far.
--The OTA workouts helped them install close to 75-80 percent of the offense. Now they have to add on some nuance stuff but "now we have to go through and practice it." It's about mastering the nuts and bolts Bobo wants.
--Nick Muse is on a "pitch count" in practice. Said they have talent at tight end but it's inexperienced. Said it takes time for young guys because they don't play the typical tight end position in high school and there's an adjustment period.
--Asked about Luke Doty, said if he's one of the best 4-5-6 receivers he hopes Muschamp lets him play 30 snaps a game. Did mention Doty is on special teams too. Mentions too a Wildcat package.
