I am not so sure. Even Republican Senators wouldn't like the President going around them. Plus, a recess appointment has a time limit. That gives everyone else a running clock on ignoring the DOJ.
A recess appointment would severely weaken his authority as attorney general. Some Trump federal judges have already ruled that those that aren't senate confirmed in the DOJ have weakened powers, including subpoena power. So far, those rulings have not been overturned.
Remember, Trump's own attorneys argued this very thing.
Essentially, people could ignore him and get away with it.
Let's see how it shakes out. Trump is going to have his prime pick in the AG slot to make sure they can't come at him again like they did in his last term.

I certainly have. He was also the main player in taking out a big bite of blue states like California and helped secure the overall popular vote. RFK Jr. had bigger cheers at Trump rallies than Trump did when he was on stage.
