Deebo Samuel Caps Off Great Week At The Senior Bowl

I didn’t call anybody names. I just described your feckless ASS. You think that Scouts didn’t already know what Deebo could do? That’s their JOB to know. I’ll probably never mention Deebo again in this Forum. I wish him success in life (like the rest of the athletes at Carolina), because he played for MY team. He also quit on that team, so he has left a lasting impression. I sure wish the scumbags that don’t really care about the team’s success, would get the f#*k out of this Forum. That’s the only thing that does matter!

Well, if every seems to think he made a couple of million that seems to indicate the scouts didn’t know exactly what he could do. It’s amazing what happens to players when they play against better competition. Ever wonder why guys that dominate colleges don’t just dominate the pros?

What you are spewing is some of the most uninformed or ill-informed garbage I have read in sometime. Keep in mind you could’ve ignored the Deebo thread as this wasn’t about him. OT playing or playing. There are 1,000 other threads on the subject. Some fans want to continue to pull for and discuss what’s going on with former players. Get used to it. Quite frankly you come off as a huge douche.

Like I give a damn? You’re another feckless POS too! You’re making this all about Deebo. I said he quit on his teammates...That’s it! I forgot more than you’ll ever know about Carolina Athletics. Say goodbye...A#*hole!

Well I am a fan, a graduate and a scholarship member of the team from 89 to 93, but I guess that makes me no real fan because I agree with his decision to skip a minor bowl game, to set up a future for himself and progeny, that can secure their future for many many years possibly. If we had.made the playoffs no doubt he would have played.Speaking in absolutes is dangerous.

Correct...You’re not a real fan. You mental midgets have made this all about Deebo. I don’t care about Deebo’s decisions. His last one just happened to effect my team’s ability to compete. I just care about my team’s success. Anybody that doesn’t care about the TEAM’s success...is worthless. I can understand why the Taters laugh at your ASS. All they care about is winning. I despise them...but at least they understand about the winning.

Happy for Samuel. Made himself some money this week by all accounts.
I don't begrudge him a bit for skipping the Belk Bowl out of caution to a possible injury. A meaningless bowl game that meant little to anyone. And that includes the USC football program as they proved with the most uninspired performance of the year. And in the end, a win did little to elevate Virginia's program, nor did a loss hurt USC's. College football is big business with a lot of folks getting rich. All hit the stars of the show that are on the field. He made a business decision. And apparently a good one. Good for him. Hope he played his way into the first round.

When we sign players, they become Gamecocks. We wish them success and fans purchase season tickets that help pay for scholarships. All of us want these kids to have success at the next level but not at the expense of The University of South Carolina.

He didn't finish his career here. He bailed on his coaches and teammates.

Nice! Love the words you use when folks don't agree with you. I bet your a great teammate at work.

In his defense I did say he was coming off as a douche. But anyone that makes the comment that they’ve forgotten more about Carolina athletics than me, or anyone else for that matter, is just being ridiculous. Even if he did know a ton, he has no idea who I am or what I know. Just a ridiculous claim based on the fact he doesn’t even know if that’s true or not.

He seems to think that anyone that is interested in Deebo supported his decision to not play. I have said in this thread, and just about every thread that I hated Deebo’s decision to skip the bowl game. It sucked and it’s an awful trend. Also sends the message to the team that the game was meaningless. But it is possible to not like that decision and still like, care, pull for, hope for the best, and even understand Deebo’s decision.

I want the best players we can get in this program. If that means all of them skip a meaningless bowl game their senior season, then fine. I just hope we get good enough players so that we aren’t in meaningless bowl games every year.

Some of our fans act like we are the only team that has had this issue. Every team will experience this in time. Nothing I can do about it. I’m going to pull for our former players...period.

Looks like Deebo is turning heads at the senior bowl. Hopefully he can work himself into a late first, early 2nd round pick.

Gamecock Nation is wishing you the best!!

Deebo Samuel, WR, South Carolina:
He was fantastic all week. He's physical, well put together and runs good routes. Receivers get grabbed a ton out here at Senior Bowl practices. The corners are really grabby -- things that are going to be penalties at the next level. Not only did he play through it, but a lot of times he worked himself wide open through his physicality inside the route and route acumen. He was smart in terms of how he got out of his brakes, and he caught everything that was thrown his way. I talked to a couple of teams that were really excited about what he did in the first two days here and there's no way they're not going to like what they saw today. -- Lance Zierlein

Deebo Samuel, WR, South Carolina:He's stacked two really good days together. He probably had the catch of the day on Wednesday on a double move -- it was a back-shoulder throw and he adjusted for it to make a really athletic catch. He reminds me a lot of the Panthers' D.J. Moore, who was selected 24th overall last year. Samuel might not go in the first round like Moore did, but I think he's a second-round pick who'll be a really good asset with his ability to run routes, catch the ball and also run the ball. -- Daniel Jeremiah

We owe him? Are you saying he's bigger than the school?
Is that what I said? NO! What is clear from my post is that we a number of victories to him. Just like we owe a number of victories to many other players that have helped us to win, like Sindarius Thornwell in our final 4 run, Scarnecchia in the Missouri win this year, Connor Shaw for a number of victories we don't get without him, etc, etc, etc.

While there are sitations that may make it in the best interests for a player to skip a bowl, like a minor injury that may diminish their performance, but most "skippers" hurt themselves financially by doing so. For even healthy players it puts in a question with some teams of the players love for the game. The best players love their team and will do anything to help their team, there is no "i" in team as many coaches say. If that is the thinking of even a handful of coaches/scouts, you hurt yourself. Second, when your biggest negative is one of durability, which exactly fits Deebo, you want every chance to play that you can to show your health and durability. He got very bad advice. Maybe he can overcome it with NFL Combine and all star game heroics, but why give yourself something to overcome?

They threw to him near the end if the 1st Q, long and ball overthrown. That was one of two plays I saw while flipping channels.

You said; "We owe a lot to this young man.".

I was hoping Muschamp could be credited for some of these wins.

And this is what I said before that: "There were a number of games that we would not have won the last couple of years without Deebo. His KO returns against NC State and Mizzou were the difference last year. Ole Miss this year." Perhaps your ADD prevented you from reading the entire post and caused you to take one line out of context?
