I've read a good bit about Jake Bentley and how his play in the second half helped propel us to victory yesterday. But let's make no mistake about it. There were two things that caused us to win - outstanding defense and second half turnovers by Michigan. Also, it wasn't just the turnovers, but WHERE the turnovers occurred. Two of them were deep in their territory and resulted in scores. Had it not been for that we would not have won that game. Our offense continued to struggle and could not sustain a drive for any appreciable distance.
The defense is the only reason we were even in the game after the first half. This game could have been a disaster and a runaway at halftime but for the outstanding play of the defense. I'm not trying to disparage Jake, but I believe credit should be given where it is due and that resides almost exclusively with the defense.
