I'm feeling really good about the future of this team under Beamer.
Dawkins had a strong freshman year but was hurt in preseason this year and was never much of a factor. 6'4". 245 DE with 3 years left.
There is speculation that the first of the day is Devonni Reed DB of of C Michigan. Probably an immediate starter. Good offers. He tweeted "blessed" about the time Beamer posted the welcome home

Dawkins is a good pickup. He was a high 3 star recruit based on 247's and ESPN's recruiting scales. And he had some good programs on him coming out of high school: Notre Dame, Tennessee, Florida, West Virginia, etc.
I'd take both and I'd love to get that receiver too

Rivals needs to figure in transfers through the portal in its recruiting rankings. I think 247 does. I'm not sure about ESPN.

We have a player who knows what it's feels like to beat Clemson..
In the 90's and 2000's teams built programs around JC's... Today teams build programs from the portal with higher level quality player...
247 does. But it seems like they have the rankings for the traditional recruiting class and one of or the transfer portal. Then it looks like they just average those two for an overall ranking.
I would prefer them just lump every incoming player together and rank the classes accordingly.
As for Rivals, they would still find new ways to downgrade recruits that commit to us. 🙄
But how would they rank them? Would they rank transfers based on their bogus HS rankings or would they recognize their first rankings errors and rank them accordingly. Human nature tells me they are not going to admit errors in their original rankings and upgrade players who have proven on the field they are better.
I would assume they would rank them based on how they have performed to date, HS or college.
Who do they think they are? Rivals? 😒
That actually brought us down. We were 21st in 247's overall ranking before we added him. But I like what I've seen of the kid.
