Do any of you guys want Texas and Oklahoma? If so, why? *

Because we don't measure up. Face it.
We are already in over our heads in the SEC before adding Texas and Oklahoma. Playing the very best teams in the nation and watching them bloody our nose every Saturday ruins the excitement of college football for me. I prefer to add nobody to the conference. Its more than tough enough already.

Wanting back to the ACC is a sad way to live life.
If going back to the ACC gets us 9 wins a year instead of 2, 3, 4, or 5 then I am 100% for it. Winning more games per season and going to more bowl games isn't a sad life. Nine wins a season would be wonderful. I am tired of getting our butts kicked at least a half dozen times a season. The easy ACC has only helped our rival. The SEC chews up weak teams like a meat grinder. Going 2-8 is a sad life.

You think we would have won 9 games in the ACC last year? It's true we suck right now but we haven't always and won't always. We have to get better, not play worse competition. If wins and losses are ALL that you care about there are teams in the ACC that have plenty of room for you. Maybe even DIV III conferences are more your taste. To each their own.

I don't understand your lack of a masochistic streak.

I think 2000, 2001, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2017 we would have won 9 games or more. We would have won some conference championships too. I think nobody cares that we are in the SEC when they look at our overall record since 1992. I think Clemson has benefitted a lot from playing an ACC schedule instead of the SEC.

Jacque, it really is all about wins and losses.
Are you one of those people who feels proud when Williams Brice is packed beyond capacity for a prime time CBS game, but lose to Georgia by 28 points?
Are you one of those people who chants SEC! , SEC !, SEC ! when the SEC goes 7-0 in bowl games but we are not in a bowl game.
Are you one of those people who was happy when we hired Muschamp?
Are you one of those people who thinks things will be better for us when the conference adds Texas and Oklahoma?

I'm a Gamecock fan and a college football fan. Life is taking the good with the bad. When we do win the SEC, and we will, that will mean more to me than winning the ACC ever could. To each their own.

The people in power have a vision for college football that we probably still don't understand. Keepin the ole SEC isn't going to happen, so we may as well get ahead of it.

We have been in the SEC nearly 30 years. We have not won a championship yet. We have won the division once.
I don't mean to dash your hopes, but you need to add some reality to your rah rah logic.
I haven't looked up our conference record, but you and I know its embarrassing. The SEC is about to get even stronger. Tell me how that is going to help us in the win / loss column?

I'd like to see them in it. That said, if I were voting, I'd listen to those for and against with the idea I could be persuaded either way. I'd be the Joe Manchin of the SEC.

So if we go to 16 teams, does that mean all teams make the SEC tournament and perhaps no team gets a bye? Has that been discussed?

All teams making the SEC tournament, I assume you are talking about basketball, right?

I can't tell you anything. And you can't dash my hopes. Go Cocks! Have a great day!

Yes, its all about the money we will get. We will never be the NC in my mind. Simple as that. But we can educate many kids in the endeaver. Use the money for the good of the population and screw anything else. If we luck out great, but we are a poor small state and can use the schollies for the betterment of our children.

I don't want them because it just makes it that more implausible for us to be competitive. If you think things are bad for us now, think of how few recruits we'll get once we have 3-4 potential playoff teams in our conference. Anyone who thinks this is a good move for SC isn't being objective. More likely we should fear we'll be removed for a more competitive team in the future. We struggle to get recruits now, if OU is in the SEC, why would they come to a sub-.500 team If they can go to a potential playoff contender?
damn, what a loser mentality! this will make it more reason for a recruit to want to play in the sec. it is also a possible way to gain an advantage over clemson. yall wanna get back to where we were in 2010 thru 2014, well if we get there we will compete with all, if not we lose one more game.. plain and simple

I really like OU, Texas will take just because they have tradition (even if they're Oklahoma's little sister recently). Do wish we could trade VT for Missouri but c'est la vie. :D

It's not a loser mentality. It's reality. I have been a fan for 40 years and had season tickets for many, but let's be honest. If you believe we can beat OU outside of a fluke then you're just wrong. Objectively wrong. The rest of the country are not gamecock fans and don't care like we do. They largely look at our program as a joke. It's not a loser mentality to recognize reality. Do I hope beamer injects passion and victory into this program? Yes. Do I think it will result in our being atop the conference? No
