It seems like the first batter he faces each game finds a way to reach base. Mosty by a free pass. Not a good pattern for a closer. Really not sure at this point if we have a true closer. Agree/Disgree?

Completely agree

Agree. Frankly, we seem to specialize in allowing the first batter to reach first base. Even our best pitchers. Every time I look up, man on first with nobody out.

But pitching isn't our problem.

We do not have a solid reliable closer, no.
But Demurias is talented and will be an asset in one role or another. He has a big upside and I believe he will be well developed under coach Meade.

This can be emphasized enough.
We are 12th in the conference in era. Hitting and pitching need to improve.
As for Demurias, he’s not shown that he’s a great closer partially because we seldom use him as a closer. He usually comes in either to try to keep us close or in a tie not, to protect a lead. My question would be, how many more games would we have won if Matt price was the closer this year? The closer will be an issue when we start taking more leads into late innings and actually need a closer.
