If it's a full ride from the start, that's a solid gig. If it's a 2-3 year stretch to weed out those that leave, I get it. If it's a national avg of 5 years, that's a stretch. Especially for those over 45 years old. Keep in mind that years spent with a company before becoming a regular will not count as years towards the pension even though partial benefits were offered during this time frame.
