I was able to take in the Bamberg-Ehrhardt/Lower Richland game Friday night. Bamberg Ehrhardt won 26-14. The key prospect in the game was 2014 tight end K.C. Crosby from Bamberg.

Crosby lined up a lot of positions during the game. He mostly played tight end on offense but did line up out wide at receiver and also lined up at left tackle a few times. On defense, he mostly lined up at defensive end but did play some free safety at the end of the game. He was also the long snapper, kickoff specialist, and returned punts and kicks.

He didn't have many opportunities tonight in the passing game. I counted four times that he was targeted through the air. He ended up with one catch for 32-yards. That catch was on a seam route up the middle and he was hit in stride. The other three balls that were thrown his way he didn't have much of a chance to catch. I did get a chance to watch him block a lot tonight and he did fine doing that.

He didn't see much action come his way on defense. He probably finished with a couple tackles with one of them being in the backfield. I would have liked to seen him play linebacker and in space tonight but that didn't happen.

Nothing much has changed on my opinion of Crosby as a prospect. He is a top-five player in the state and the top tight end in the state. He should definitely be a four-star guy in the rankings.

On the recruiting side of things, I still believe that South Carolina is in the best shape to land him. He was very close to ending things in July. I think it is very unlikely that he will make a commitment during the season but after the season is when he should be on commitment watch.

Here are some stats on the Gamecock commits that I've been able to gather tonight:

Connor Mitch: Wakefield beat Holly Springs (N.C.) 49-20 tonight to move to 2-0 on the season. Mitch had 388 yards passing and five touchdowns in the win. All of that came with him not playing in the fourth quarter because of the score. Mitch now has around 700 yards passing and nine touchdowns in two games this season.

Larenz Bryant: Vance beat Parkland (N.C.) 34-8 tonight to move to 2-0 on the season. Bryant had a five-yard touchdown run in the win. He was also a big part of the Vance defense that only allowed 69 total yards in the game.

Pharoh Cooper: Havelock lost tonight to New Bern (N.C.) 34-33 and falls to 1-1 on the season. They missed an extra-point that would have tied the game with 30-seconds left in the game.
