This team is starting to get it. Playing really well. Have several scorers now. Love Reese, Stevenson and Jermaine together. Frank’s yelling is an embarrassing display. Our players make a good play and he still charges the court to get in their face. With all the flopping by a&m, Frank should use some of that rage on the refs.

As for fouling…we foul a bunch…but I swear we get 7-9 phantom fouls per game as well.

I hope we continue upward because we have some good depth.

A couple of those calls on Bryant at the end were complete horse$hit. Honestly, it’s ruining or ruined college basketball. Refs call fouls based on anticipation rather than what really happens. The last foul on Bryant was absolutely ridiculous.

I think coaches are telling their guys to flop against us now since we play so aggressive. Guys are acting like the freaking NBA guys flop.

Yeah I think you’re starting to see the talent we have gel a little after having played together.
Our biggest obstacle I think is Frank is still not putting the most optimum groupings out there at times, and the in your face stuff is REALLY over the top. Save that for when you need to really drive a point home.
I’m letting myself hope in a decent season…out of our next 5 I think that 3 are for sure winnable (MissSt, Mizz, UGA) and two would be good to split maybe (UK, UT).
We at least need to take 3 of the 5

It was indeed. I noticed before the game that either ESPN or SECN was showing A&M with an "83% chance of winning."

Since the FL-UT-AU stretch when our mouthy fanbase began flinging its feces, this team is playing for itself and with a chip on its shoulder, and I dig it. To my eye the game turned on the Stevenson jump ball tussle when their guy tried to strong arm him and Stevenson wasn't having any of it. A&M lost their cool and their nerve at that point.

If Martin would just stop with the freak show he would be much more palatable.

Just for clarification, is one a member of "our mouthy fanbase" when he/she refers to Martins actions as "a freak show" or is that an acceptable opinion and not a "mouthy fan's" opinion?

Not my circus...... but this board(and most boards) has a population in any sport that hops hard and hot on the first negative thing that happens in a game. If we lose they ride it til the next contest. If we rally and win, for the most part they ghost. Just read the game threads for the last 3 MBB games.

I just saw the replay and I was impressed. This is a solid quad 1 win and we were competitive the whole game and took control in the 2nd half. If you told me we were 13-7 and 4-4 in SEC play, in a year where the SEC may be the best conference in the country, I would gladly take it. I still think we need 5 or possibly 6 more SEC wins to feel comfortable about getting into the tournament.

You mean the actions that take place winning or losing, good play or bad play, that's been going on from day one with us ten years ago, and that he has been called on the carpet by Ray Tanner about?

Yeah; that an acceptable opinion. Clarified?

I don't enjoy the type of coach Frank Martin is.
I don't understand why he continues to behave in a way that alienates a large portion of the fan base. I've heard all the arguments from the fans who don't "mind" his behavior. The glaring looks, the profanity, the screaming, the menacing stances, I understand all of that is okay with part of the fan base as long as we win.
I've heard this behavior justified by saying that other coaches behave the same way, and that makes it all right.
But I don't like it. I've never liked it, winning or losing. I think it is sad that as he has aged, he continues to act in this way.
But I do love Gamecock sports and men's basketball is my favorite. So I hope the team wins. I don't pull for Frank Martin as much as I pull for the team. GO COCKS!

Nope! Maybe you can elaborate on what is classified as “slinging it’s feces”

Kids who love him, love to play for him. Not everybody is that kid, but they will give their right nut to win for him. I was that kinda player.

I get that; I just have difficulty seeing *anything* positive or of value in his sideline screaming and glaring at our players. And it would be so easy to just not do it; that’s what I don’t get.

Some fans do not like this behavior, but then they say “Hire Pitino!” 🤔
