Beamer upset again by the very late substitution. You're allowed to sub if the offense does, but you can't intentionally wait until the last minute of the play clock

This is definitely what Shane is upset about, he spent a decent chunk of that TV timeout talking to the refs some more.

Two missed blocks on a 3rd down keeper for Sellers, but he still muscles forward to pick it up. Everything is work for South Carolina right now.

it's be a ploy teams have been using all season long against fast tempo if they offense substitutes. College and pro.

South Carolina goes for a fake field goal. Kai Kroeger throws it to Boogie Huntley, and it's broken up in the end zone. Play was there. Kai just couldn't lead it far enough. Turnover on downs.

That's my problem with it. I don't hate the call, but you gotta make someone other than a defensive tackle the target there.

Man this is typical when we are highly favored in a bowl game, we lay an egg. Reminds me of the Poppa John’s bowl against UConn

Illini take over on their own 23. You have to keep them out of the end zone on this drive or that gamble really sinks you

South Carolina defense gives up two first downs, but gets off the field. Actually the best drive the defense has had since the first one, I think. Offense will get it back with under five minutes to go in the first half.

D and a terrible punt, makes up for dumb 4th down play. Time to put some points on board and kill clock. (Thread reply)
Big chance to maybe stack scores here, too. South Carolina gets the ball coming out of halftime.

Best throw of the day for Sellers as he hits Nyck Harbor for a gain of 15 on third-and-10. By far his best ball of the day.

Sellers scrambles all around then sails it over Campbell's head. Probably would've been best tucking it, but you like to see him keeping his eyes down field. 2nd down and 10 after the 2 minute warning

This has been a pretty underwhelming half but if you go down and get even a field goal here, you're going into halftime down one and getting the ball. You're not in bad shape, but you have to manage this situation right. 2nd and 10 from the Illinois 39 coming out of the break.

Sellers slips out of tackles and gets a first down. Next pass is in the flat to Juju for just two yards and Beamer is not using one of his two timeouts.

Sellers blown up on a third down keeper. Herrera will try from 40 to end the half. I don't love the playcall there. Even if you'd converted that for a gain of like 5 or whatever, you'd still be backed into a corner trying to get a touchdown with the time left.
