Game Thread: Gamecocks vs. Illinois

Fourth-and-1 for South Carolina from the Illinois 36. Jatavius Shivers came in as a sixth offensive lineman, they had two tight ends in there before a timeout.

I think you just power this thing through, man. They haven't been good offensively in this game, but they've been good in short yardage. Picked up two 3rd and 1s in the first half. you should be able to get a yard, especially with an extra offensive lineman in the game.

Illinois sold out to stop Sellers there on 4th and 1. Instead, he hands it to Adaway, he does a nice job finding the cut back lane, and then no one was home in the secondary.

Still Peyton Williams at safety to start this drive. I would be surprised if Emmanwori is back in this game again.

After the extra point, the Gamecocks take a 10-7 lead with 10:50 left in the 3rd quarter. How have less than 5 minute elapsed in the 2nd half?

Altmyer throws one up over the middle, the WRs feet seem to get tangled with Jalon Kilgore who keeps his feet and makes an easy INT

Option play on 3rd down, Sellers pitches to Larvadain, and it moves the chains.

And then a pass for a gain of 20 to Harbor. This is the most momentum South Carolina has had since that first drive of the game. Need to strike while the iron is hot.

Never mind. Jawarn Howell fumbles after catching a screen and Illinois gets the turnover right back.

Understandable without Kennard, but the defensive line has not had a noticeable impact on this game since the first quarter. Illinois is getting what it wants at the line of scrimmage. Need someone to make a play here.

3rd and 2 coming up. Another chance for the defense in short yardage.

Debo got through there, but couldn't quite make a play. McCray falls forward to move the chains.

Altmyer throws an absolute duck, but that kind of works out for him because the underthrow lets the WR work back to it and catch it at the 2 yard line
