Just getting ready for another year of football, and wanted to get an early "Good Luck Gamecocks" in. I'm not sure what to expect out of the Hawks this year. Could be anywhere from 4 - 10 wins. Easy schedule but it seems like a lot of "whatever" attitude has landed and won't leave. I'm hoping for good things out of SC. Would love to see you take the East. Anyway, enjoy the 4th, the rest of summer and kick some butt this fall!

Thanks wingman. Think the seats warm for Ferentz this year? You guys were discussed some yesterday on XM 91. Hope he can get some good wins this year. Good guy. We are a big fat question mark this year to me. Hopefully we will get 9 or 10 wins. If not, I think Spur will retire. Guess we both will have to hope for the best. Good luck.

Thanks Wingman. Good luck to you guys as well. I am also a Redskins Fan and I am really looking forward to seeing what Brandon Scherff does for our OL. I am really happy the Skins drafted a stud O lineman to buy RG3 some time and can't wait to see your Iowa product in action in the Burgundy and Gold.

I kind of like Ferentz . He is old school type coach. GO HAWKS!

After graduating from the University of South Carolina, I went on to work at several colleges and universities including the University of Iowa. I too like Kirk Ferentz, but he is overpaid. "After an 11-2 season in 2009, which ended with an Orange Bowl victory over Georgia Tech, Ferentz was rewarded with a massive ten-year, $35 million contract to keep in Iowa City for the long term (Forbes, 2014). Click http://www.forbes.com/sites/chrissmith/2014/09/16/can-iowa-afford-to-fire-kirk-ferentz/ for source. Since the contract extension, his record on the field has not met expectations. I hope he turns the program around. He was a nice guy and a good colleague. He was always willing to help other university departments when called upon.

The University of Iowa and the state of Iowa are wonderful. The people are capable, friendly, hardworking, and honest. If you are ever in Iowa City, go to a Hawkeye wrestling meet. Iowa wrestling does not draw crowds like SEC football, but it rivals it in intensity. Olympian and former Iowa wrestling coach Dan Gable said, "Gold medals aren't really made of gold. They're made of sweat, determination, and a hard-to-find alloy called guts." That work ethic is common in Iowa.

Go Gamecocks! (and Go Hawks!),

I wholeheartedly agree 95. The people there are outstanding. However, love to visit, would not want to spend another winter there. Lol!

LOL, You should watch a replay of the 08 Ia Penn St game. Cold, windy, nasty. The PSU fans couldn't huddle under enough blankets. It was 30 MPH winds and around 20 degrees. Although it can get cold those type of days and temps are rare.
