I keep hearing this is a 4-5 year rebuild. Why?

Colorado almost beat Texas A&M after their QB went down. Arkansas is not a world beater and they aren't even close to being a top 5 team.

Everyone with a brain expected us to be right were we are. 2-2. Anything better would have just be gravy.

you’d have to be a complete idiot to believe that. Can you understand at all how bad Kentucky is? They literally did everything they possibly could to give us that game on a platter. Any half ass high school coach with this same team would’ve won that game. We gave up 16 to a very bad team who handed us 3 freebies and still managed to lose. It’s almost an accomplishment to be as bad as this coaching staff is.

You mean like all those idiots in Vegas that called the spread right on the money? The ones that have millions of dollars on the line?

And they didn't "give" us anything. Our improved defense made those plays. Our offense just couldn't get it done.

And we aren't close to being a top 50 team, do you really want to compare us against them right now. And regarding A&M, wanna wager a few on how we will fare with them. We have such a good history with them... 😂😂

Arkansas has one of the best AD's in the country in Yurachek.
And, along with Lane Kiffin at Ole Miss, Sam Pittman at Arkansas has one of the best coaching staffs, top to bottom in the SEC. The Razorbacks play in arguably the best division in the best conference in the NCAA.

And, their recruiting rankings have not been any better than ours. Over the past 7 recruiting cycles, we have out-recruited them 5 times. So, you be the judge as to what our problem or problems are. We could have had Bama's players on the sidelines, and Satterfield would have still found a way to lose to UK tonight.

so if we cover a Vegas spread, we should take it as a moral victory. That kind of dumbass pathetic thinking is why we are such a historically awful program… because our sunshine pumping fan base tolerates failure. I’d love to know what the Vegas line would be knowing that we got 3 turnovers to Kentucky’s 0. Think they’d habe us as 6 pt underdogs? Hell no, it would likely be 14 pt favorites.

When we were good we had elite coaches in Spurrier and Holtz. The State of South Carolina had some great talent and USC got the majority of it because these coaches had developed positive relationships with the high school coaches

4 to 5 years sounds right. Probably stuck with Satterfield for at least two and then two to potentially recover from him gets you to 4.

Those coaches won 3 games last year,
They lost 3 games by a total of 7 points. Their offense lit up the scoreboard in several games, you saw the progress…especially with Briles.

Let’s see Shane have this kind of success next year, wouldn’t bet on it.

It is a 4 or 5 year rebuild because it will take 3 years minimum for our trainee coach to learn how to coach and get rid of his current 1aa level staff. 5 years from now MAYBE Shane will know what he is doing. Meanwhile he really really really really really wants to coach Carolina and he is a great guy. Those are the two most important things when hiring an SEC football coach...... right?

So you are whining and crying about the lack of success next year already?

Let's all celebrate that, we lost to Kentucky AGAIN but we kept it at or near the spread....rah rah rah, that says it all.

It does. Instead of getting our ass beat 41-18 like last year, we made a game of it this year.

It's called improvement. Long way to go, but headed in the right direction.

Anybody with half a brain could see Arky trending in the right direction last year. That’s what we need to see this year from little Shane and his band of high school coaches. Good luck with that

So losing close games was "trending in the right direction" last year for Arkansas, but not for us this year with Kentucky?

Let's see how they "trend" next week.

So next week is must win, or does a loss still mean we are headed in the right direction?

You are missing the point. Pittman hired home run coordinators, Briles and Odom are top shelf.

That’s what these new head coaches that can’t call plays have to do, that’s what I’ve been shouting about Shane since the hire. This experiment fails without an exceptional OC and DC. White has potential, Satterfield hasn’t called ball plays since ‘17. I see no evidence he is up to this job.

I have. That first drive of the second half was perfect. The problem is consistency, especially on the oline, and that doesn't happen overnight.

Even the 4th down call I disagreed with was there. He can't catch it for them too.

It was more like the HS coaches were enamored with having legendary coaches like Holtz and Spurrier showing up at their office doors. Lou really didn't have time to develop deep and meaningful relationships with HS coaches. Truth be known, Lou felt they were below him. And, Spurrier hated recruiting. Some of his staff may have developed some good relationships, but he didn't really go out of his way either.

Well, UK did have to replace it's whole OL from last year.

Their depth chart has most as returning starters from last year, with the exception of new left tackle Dare Rosenthal being a transfer in from LSU where he was a starter. Their center is a 4 year starter.

EJ and Lawing to be precise.

Last year they had 4 seniors and a junior that was expected to be drafted pretty high for an OL. Hard to believe they stayed?

Sam Pittman is 4 games into his 2nd season and has Arkansas looking like a legitimate Top 5 team. In the same period that we went from 33 wins in 3 years to a complete dumpster fire, Arkansas has had I believe FIVE different coaches. So why would anybody seriously give Beamer the benefit of the doubt for 4-5 seasons? Honest question….has anyone seen anything on the offensive side of the ball through 4 games to indicate we’re headed in the right direction? His playcalling makes Lou Holtz’s offenses look fresh and inventive. The one thing we could’ve carried over from Muschamps team- the run game- has been completely dismantled and even though we now have no run game, Beamer is scared out of his wits to throw the ball downfield on 1st and 2nd down. Just pathetic all the way around.

you want a true rebuild….show Ray Tanner the door and rebuild the AD office. As long as Tanner infests the AD spot with the awful decisions he’s made, the more it shows nobody at this school actually cares about winning.

Because, even if Arkansas is for real this year, and that is still to be determine, that would be BY FAR the exception, not the rule.

NOBODY judges a new coach that takes over a complete dumpster fire after just 4 games. Idiotic.

The suck that is our Men’s program is absolutely on Magoo, PERIOD.

His hire is the epitome of UofSC, period.
First, the "UofSC" was from the university's strategic and planned giving department....nothing to do with the athletic department.

His tenure has been marked by facilities improvements of all athletic facilities, improved academic performance of our student-athletes (only behind Vanderbilt in the SEC), increased funding by alumni to get the aforementioned facilities built, and probably the best rapport of any AD we've had with the state legislature to get approval of all the projects we needed completing. He will most likely retire at the end of his current contract in 2014 and you will get your wish. Be careful what you wish for.

He’s an embarrassing, baseball lunkhead.

He epitomizes the suck that is UofSC.

Wish for?

Give me another Hyman. And, that’s simply asking for competence.

Tanner never sniffed his jock and Hyman knew he couldn’t.

LOL. Hyman was good at planning. He had zero relationship with the state legislature....Tanner even had to sell the baseball stadium to them to get the necessary funding. There was a reason TAMU let him go after a short stint there.

Ray Tanner is AD Barney Fife.

With 18-22 year olds, he had some cache.

With a professional adult?

A weak ass, inarticulate, ineffectual puppet.

That, and the millions he pissed away on losers, is his legacy.

#UofSC

At this point we as well make Connor Shaw the OC. At least he know how to call plays like SOS. Our current offense looks just like Kurt Roper.
I doubt it because we should have made him our interim coach last year and we dropped the ball and appointed the lame duck Bozo….who looks light years more competent than the person responsible for what we are doing now offensively.
