I wasnt going to say this unless Burch committed to USC. So..

Doty, Edwards, Joyner and others might HAVE been Moo U fans but they're damn sure Gamecocks now. O'tre Smith was slow played by Blabo, even though his Mom had been a Moo U volleyball player. When Blabo struck out on another WR recruit, he turned back to O'tre. O'tre told him to go fornicate himself.

Finally, it's very funny that you left out Pickens and Burch. I guess they wanted to go to Hicksville U too, but y'all didn't want them??

Funny that psycho (Venables) and the entire starting DL from Clempsun was at TL Hanna HS decked out in urange when he committed to USC. Blabo and psycho were both at Burch's last Hammond Home game just a week ago. Damned if both of em wanted to be tigers but y'all didn't want em'

GTFU with your bullshit...

lol. You do realize Doty wanted to come to Clemson, but didn’t because we signed a better prospect. Joyner wanted to come to Clemson but we didn’t want him as a qb. Edwards wanted to play at Clemson but we didn’t want him as a wr. No telling how many more wanted to come to Clemson but couldn’t. South Carolina is greatly benefiting from Clemsons recruiting dominance nation wide, so don’t act like all these kids are just dying to come play for UofSC instead of Clemson.
Fool.

This was a great class capped by Burch. Him along with Huntley, Lloyd, and Doty closed the talent gap with Clempson. If our coaches can help them reach their potential we should be able to compete in 2 years, maybe 3. I'm still not sold on Champ, but this class gives me hope.

I'm with you, but it's probably more like 4, maybe 5 years. With the class Clemson just signed, its doubtful USC is beating them in the next 3 years with two of those games at Clemson and Trevor Lawrence and DJ at QB.

And you wanted to go to the Clemson boards tonight, but settled on Carolina's instead.

When you pull from the IMG's of the world and have a pick anywhere in the country it really doesn't matter how you perform in State. Unfortunately Clemson is a National brand where blue chip recruits are lining up. 2 out of 3 Natty's will change your recruiting pool.
Eventually it will. The national players want to play for whoever is winning. As long as you are winning, that's great. But everything ebbs and flows and eventually, some other program will be the shiny new object on the national level. That's when maintaining those good relationships in-state will pay dividends. Having top ranked recruiting classes is important, but so is signing the best talent in the state.

Lol. I left them out because they didn’t want to go to Clemson. I was only talking about players that would have gone to Clemson if they could have. It’s a fact whether you guys like it or not. South Carolina has benefited greatly from Clemson’s success. Your welcome.
How bout benefit yourself back to the tater board tater tot!

No one in the Western US, where I live, knows Clemson is in South Carolina.

And they dont sign any players from the state.

Dabo finally has the national guys(some anyway) catching on to his schtick. Good ol` saintly Dabo is shrewd and cunning, has a gift of brainwashing/selling people. His arrogance if obvious if you look past his good ol` boy act. Hopefully they will continue to see through his antics for what he really is.

The numbers were real limited that year and we only had two spots for WR. Tee & Amari were a package deal, and both followed Hunter Johnson. We wanted Otre as a TE; that’s what offended him and his mom.

1st off clemson is bringing in probably the best class in the country. Having said that clemson is getting a bad reputation in state. I work for a school district and I talk to a lot coaches all the time. There is not a lot of division 1 talent in my district but that's beside the point. Again Clemson is bringing in a great class. But they are getting the reputation that their poop don't stink with coaches. Just look at the top 5 in state players the last couple of years. Most if not all ended up at USC. Will it matter on the football field in years to come ? I dont know. I'm just saying.
Well I'm not sure this is accurate 100%. My Brother-in-law is a coach on a good team in Lowcountry and that isn't his take at all. Bottomline is they (coaches) have a lot of players that want Clemson offers they are not getting them. Clemson is grabbing players nationally, leaving out state players. Coaches would like to have Clemson offers as they think their guys are great but it isn't happening! So I dont think it's a Clemson coach thing as much as coaches love to make their players happy and Clemson takes who they want nowadays! My Brother-in-law truly thought they had 2 linemen worthy this year and Clemson got guys higher rated.

Can 100% confirm this is the case, and it's creeping in to the state of NC too. Source: direct conversation with Sam Howell's Mom.

Grown men arguing like children is all I see here. It really takes the joy out of the game.

This is the reality of it. It's great that we got Pickens and Burch instead of them, but don't think that is going to turn the tide at all. They are a top program. They can take who they want for the most part, I mean they've got players from all over. I really don't think them not "owning" SC is going to catch up to them in any way really.

True
They dont need to own a state when they are recruiting on a national level because the #1 players from MD, CA, FL, NC, and GA "are greater than" the top 10 players in SC.

First of all, I've always thought closely following and getting upset about recruiting is really creepy and its a shame that grown men bicker like middle school girls over 17 year old boys.

That said, I don't see your argument at all. Burch is a really good football player from what I've heard and is a great get. Clemson got Myles Murphy, who was higher rated in two of the three major services. That's at most even. Clemson got three defensive tackles who were considered much better than Huntley, including the #1 player in the country. Lloyd is a legitimate running back, just a violent guy who wants to get every yard he can. He's rated the #5 running back by Rivals, #7 by 247, and #9 on ESPN. But Clemson signed Bowman, who's the unanimous #2 running back in the country. Doty is considered the #3 dual threat QB in the country, and is supposed to be very exciting. Clemson signed the unanimous #1 overall QB and #2 player in the country. So it seems like in your four players, the gap actually became wider, because Clemson recruited better players at each position (though DE could be considered even).

But obviously it did, Clemson signed eight 5 Stars (in one of the major services), ten 4 Stars, and five 3 Stars. South Carolina recruited two 5 stars, five 4 Stars, and thirteen 3 Stars. I don't see how you can say those two classes means that South Carolina closed the talent gap.

The talent gap got smaller based on what was on the field for USC last year and what will be on the field next year. USC got better through this years class at QB, D-line and RB. You could argue neutral at RB since Feaster was a 5 star.

One concern is that USC may not have got better at WR with Edward's leaving, but we don't know what the new WR's will look like yet. On paper, maybe neutral to negative at that position next year.

They wanted Edwards for Rb knowing their excuses ...
All these stars hurt my head, do you guys really think all these kids rated at the top will plan out?? I was told Jimmy Clausen was the LeBron James of football by Rivals...... Don't worry they will have probably 2-5 kids jump in the portal after they see Dabo is full of it...

not sure I can Completely agree with this. Schools like Bama and Clemson turn away more 4-5 stars than most schools even get a chance at. For instance, if Clemson had taken every four and five star player in the state of South Carolina, instead of the four and five stars they signed yesterday, they would not even be in the top five today. Thats from ESPN, not me. So while I see what you’re saying, it’s not completely relevant to the truth.

You're a big joke man.. How does it feel to have people think you are some dweeb idiot.. Go away man you are an embarrassment to your fan base..... Did they run your dumbass off over there... What an utter joke you are.

Dweeb is the only word that I could think of that sounded as stupid as his posts.

No one has addressed the two players I mentioned, Pickens and Burch.

As stated Psycho (Venables) and the entire starting DL from CU, or: the Power Rangers were in the stands at TL Hanna HS the day Pickens committed to USC. They really didn’t want him?

Blabo and Psycho were both in the stands at Burch’s last home game before the early signing day decked out in urange at Hammond Academy. They really didn’t want him either?

No one is arguing that CU recruits on a national level, but what IS A FACT, is that the last two 5* players from SC snubbed them. They signed Psycho’s 3* son from Daniel HS. Counting Capehart from IDG, they signed TWO SC natives on their 2020 class.

If you remember, they were acting the same way before SOS started taking all the talent in our state. Once that happened, you started to see the tides start flowing our direction. Wouldn't be surprised if their arrogance will catch up to them in the next few years.

I doubt it. They are LOADED with talent and no end in sight. We may not beat them again for twenty years. I hate it but that’s the writing on the wall right now.

Clemson won the title with a couple of top 20 recruiting classes, they never scratched the top 5 until this year. The biggest advantage they have is the schedule they play, the competition is terrible, so they don't have the same injuries the Gamecocks have . I think this will show when they play OSU, just like it will show when UF plays UVa......

I will never say they will win the next 20... Syracuse beat them, Pitt beat them, some Gamecock fans act like they have the best team ever assembled... Give the top 5 SEC teams the schedule they had , we would have 5 teams without a loss right now

You do realize they got the #1 player XT Thomas a couple years ago. I know he went to IMG his senior year but he is still from SC. This year they got the #2 player Capehart who also went to IMG his senior year.

From what I've understood XT isn't doing too well. Not a bust....yet.

I can help you with that.

Clemson recruited them because they are talented players and in state. The standard to get an offer from CU is very high now. Only a few across the country meet it, so its reasonable that only a small % of instate players will as well.

Players have a clear choice in state. A team that graduates players, wins championships, puts players in the NFL. You are not guaranteed anything, you will be held accountable on and off the field. You will compete every day against some of the best players in the country. You will play great teams in the playoffs. Some are up to the challenge ... some are not. Some have grown up SC fans or have SC fans in their family, etc. They are most likely to go to SC regardless. That's fine.

For all the play against the best in SEC talk, development takes place day to day. Competing against other great players. You get that at CU. Playing against the best is good, but which team has played Bama the most in the last 5 years?

Maybe Pickens and Burch didn't want those challenges? Burch sure isn't challenged daily at Hammond. Maybe that's what he was looking for? An easy path ... less competition.

Hope this helps.
