It's a dang shame we're going to play a team like Wofford as late as we are in the season instead of a ninth SEC team. It's been a blast watching us play good teams this year. I mean we have been competitive in all but what one conference game? No disrespect to Wofford intended. Three OOCs is plenty. Four is overkill.

I only disagree for one reason. Our schedule has been frikking brutal. That last ooc game will give us a chance to rest up some guys before we take on Clemson. I would rather play Wofford than be stuck playing Georgia, Tennessee, or Texas a week before Clemson. You know the SEC would do it. They wouldn't give us somebody who wasn't playoff bound just for spite.

I hear ya. I'm not sold on how playing a Wofford benefits us in any way preparing for clemson but maybe it does. I wouldn't be opposed to keeping an ooc patsy team in that spot if that's the case but still eliminate one of the four. That wouldn't be my first choice but I'd be ok with it. Heck I think I'd rather have a bye before clemson but I dont know how much that helps either. I would be surprised if the SEC fought us on that.

It's been a crazy kind of year in the SEC. What will happen is as usual we will see what the pecking order is after eight games when conference play ends and that will be that. Funny thing is this year anyway, it could be a totally different pecking order and I would argue more accurate one after nine games... but that is not what we choose to do. To me anyway, having a more accurate conference ranking that has never been more important (playoff implications) should be a no-brainer over a fourth and arguably meaningless ooc game. That said, I was just throwing this out there to see if anything sticks. I didnt expect it to. I'm pretty happy to have played as competitive as we have this year in conference play. Just hate to see it end.

Hopefully our team doesn't go through the motions and think Wofford is what our fans think of them.

I remember the 2012 team. Against Wofford. 11th game of the season. We were ranked #12. Starting the 4th quarter the score was tied 7-7.

Now, that was a good Wofford team that finished the year 9-4, much better than this year. But I've been a Gamecock fan too long....

If we just take care of business against them, this is a 7 win season. Nice improvement. Hopefully, we win next week as that is the biggest game of the season.

I remember that 2012 game. Wofford runs more of a balanced offense now and not that nightmare triple option they used to run. As long as we come out with intent in the first half we might be able to rotate a good bit in the second half and get some guys fresh for the last game. Got a tough Missouri team coming in so need to concentrate on that one first. I don't disagree with the three as opposed to four ooc games. But due to the way the schedule came out this year I am glad we had it.

I do worry about us looking ahead to clemson somewhat. I've been a gamecock fan a long time too. A trap game hasn't gotten us yet. If we get through the season not being bit by one, that's an accomplishment itself. If this game didnt concern me, I may not have even brought it up. The down side is much larger than the up side playing this game imo.
